# Ability Hit Trigger

I want the trigger to know when the missle hits the unit so an effect will happen.

For example, if a unit is in the path of the shockwave casted and gets hit, a dummy unit will purge it.

Please explain it to me in GUI (I dont know jass) if its possible in gui -.-'.

Don't think it's possible in GUI. The only way I know how to do this is with a dummy unit acting as the shockwave missile and using unit comes into range of unit triggers, which requires heavy JASS.

You could do the r * t = d (Rate times distance equals time) equation. It won't be perfect, but it'll be pretty accurate. Set the arc to zero.

You mean d/r = t?
Since r = d/t, then with simple algebra...
d/(d/t)=d*t/d=t

Hahaha. I must have been delirious last night. The equation I meant to say was r * t = d. I wrote r * d = t. Lol, at least that gave me a good laugh in the morning.

With that you would also have to check if the unit is still in AoE of the missile once the time is up (assuming missile is not tracking, which with shockwave it is not). Also the unit could have moved (granted probably not by much, but it still could move), making your calculations more inaccurate, unless you constantly update the distance of the unit, and if you are going through that much trouble you might as well create a dummy unit as the missile and use triggers.
