Idea is good, but i think its impossible. WCIII Engine can't create animation. YOu should make it for every units you can make. Dont you think its a bit... impossoble?

I kinda agree with HappyTauren on this one...Spore didn't live up to it's hype, the game drags on... it's too repetetive and gets boring to quickly.
That alone is enough to turn around and run away from the ida of such a map, let alone how many model animations and triggers you would have to put into it.

If you do decide to do such a thing (for some god forsaken reason lol) maybe stick to ONE age.?

I actually have seen a SPORE map on b.net. Stupid really. I got so far into the game that I found a gigantic glitch: the 1st stage spawns food constantly. I got to tribal stage and it lagged so much because nobody was in the cell stage. So no. SPORE maps are not to be for Warcraft 3. Infact, SPORE is not ment for RTS games.

You'd be better off replicating the cell stage.

i belive this could be done.

adding body parts could be made with a custom body with attachments like (head, arm, legs) matching the body's attachment points.

however there will be some things like you can't make like making attachments to attachments (horns to the head)

you can make e.g 5 different heads 3 bodies and the player would be able to mix that into a creture.

    here's a little paint drawing.
    ___________

was anyone going to make it anyway??

...except you can't animate attachments like that.

i guess if the arms are part of the body. and the animations have birth animations, and their replayed after some time

It is completely possible, actually, attaching every ''still'' part to the model. But...not gonna happen anyways....

It is only THEORETICALLY possible, but in practice... no.

ok ill complain again so you can say 'no' once again..
It is practically possible, but a pain in the ass. This could be set with 20 still parts to be attached at the model to a biped creature. But if you are going to merge different sets of still parts, they would sum like 50-80 attachments. Laggy isnt it? and stupid, as well.

maybe sc2 or (wc4) will make it easier to do such.
