A question regarding blizz models

Title + what i want to ask is, :
1. is editing the default blizzard model is forbidden here?
2. Are users who edited the blizzard model can get banned by the mods?

Considering that there are a lot of models that were from merged geosets from wc3 models, I think its fine... but if its from other blizzard games, or any other games, its forbidden as said on the rules...

Of course you can edit standard Blizzard models. The majority of models on this site are edits.

But you can't, like Adiktuz said, rip models from other games.

I think editing Blizzard Warcraft III models (If you're using the World Editor) or Starcraft II models (If you're using the Galaxy Editor) is fine as majority of the games (They are seen by Blizzard too) like DotA or those in The Hive Workshop use them too. But getting models from other Blizzard games or other games (If they have some copyright issue to it) is illegal so yeah, unless you really love taking huge risks of getting into trouble, don't rip off other models.

actually I think its fine if you use "rips" from blizz games as long as you don't edit it, because basically what we do in the editor is still Blizzard property (so were using Blizzard property for Blizzard property), but uploading the ripped models themselves on this site is forbidden...

So it's allowed if you do it secretly and play it by yourself? Since when others download the map from the servers, they'd be indirectly downloading a 'rip'.

PS: I'm not too sure though, I need some clarification.

If you play the maps on the maps section, you'll see maps with WoW rips... but its forbidden to talk about how to get those models...

but for rips from games from other companies, that would be a different story... as they're are not Blizzard property anymore...

What i meant is, i edit the wc3's models, and upload it here as mine, of course i do major change from the old one, so is it forbid?
I know that ripping or using the wow models are forbid so i didn't talk it here..

We said its fine if its wc3 models... a lot of the models on the models section are edit and merges...
