aka they removed them themselves. And yet all who said were leaving are back... yeah even the ones I didn't see in a while. So much for leaving THW.

Correct, I do see shiik or anarchianbedlam around here.

Some people decided to leave, and came back. That is correct.
Stating that all are back is just plain wrong.

I assume these threads cover what you are looking for:

The purge refers to a few weeks last summer. I disapproved of the behaviour of several staff members. This lead to the necessity of several demotions / bans, others received an ultimatum.
All this took place while I had appointed a person (unknown to the community) to help me. Many of the actions I had taken were done by burning bridges and not in much of a calm fashion as I usually do things. Some people were shocked and very angry. I decided that deleting the angry posts and banning the users was the solution. While this did quiet the situation, it caused the loss of innocent people that weren't part of the problem in the first place. This was unfortunate and I have since then thought out many ways that I could have acted differently...

Looking forward, some things definitely have improved. Old users that didn't participate in the site because they were wronged by the staff have come back. I am much more active now. It's worrisome to think that an event like this had to happen for me to get more involved in the site. While the staff may not be as skilled as it used to be, we are much better at working together and like it.

All of this could have been done in a peaceful manner, and I regret it was done this way.

They weren't offended about anything, they decided to move on with smth else than war3. While even people who felt they were treated wrong are back. Being able to forgive, it's nice :)

Now everybody's back and yeah with few exceptions, it's everyone. Even me.

The Purge was when a lot of people got banned, some guys left and even though the Hive has improved in some areas it's nowhere near as cool as it used to be.

To speak about it in an odd metaphorical way:
Basically put, Hive is still reconstructing itself after what I would consider a forceful reset and restart. However just as a restart doesn't completely destroy a computer the same applies to Hive. We are still dealing with aftereffects such as missing drivers and lost data, but things a slowly finding their way back and I hope to see it last even longer now.

So to sum up: No more forced resets and Hive is pretty much going to be as you know it. Every small part of the machine makes Hive, so we'll keep working and it will keep running and repairing itself - even more so since I see the CPU acknowledging its role in the system.

So a good thing to see you back and enjoy your renewed stay.
