2 spells of same type not cast together

Ok so i have 2 spells made from Nova on the same hero.
1 (nova) does mostly just aoe damage with little to no target damage
the 2nd (Ice) does no AoE damage and all target damage.

When i use the Nova (1st one) it always casts the 2nd (Ice) first..
The only way i can cast Nova is if Ice is still on Cool Down time.
Is there anyway to fix this..?

There's a "String - Order" Field on the Object editor in your abilities. Try making the one in your first ability different of the second. I tried that a long time ago, if i remember well, it did not worked, but i've seen some people telling other people here on hive to use this method, so idk if that changed on some patch or something. If your spell is triggered you could just base in different abilities.

Ok so neither are based off triggers, i just want these 2 abilities to work as separate skills in the same hero, and yeah -SoulBurn i have seen the same thing and tried it and didnt work.. :/

I know with things such as spell books and the engineering upgrade the Base Order ID can be changed and that does in fact work, i think this. But doesnt seem to with Nova..

Is there a way at all to make it work? or is this a dead end road with a wc3 limitation..?

You should use the first one from original ability, and other one from Chain Lightning with no damage, effects if you want and etc. THIS WILL WORK ONLY if u don't have Chain Lightning already. But anyway, then create a dummy ability, leveled and use the trigger when unit starts the effect of an ability. Then, create dummy to cast that ability upon targeted unit. That should work.

Don't forget to clear leaks.

Damn.. I guess i could use the channel ability trick but sigh.. this is for a custom hero game and the option to take any ability combo needs to be available.. also the trigger will have to detect what level the hero ability is and lvl the ability for the dummy unit accordingly.. not a big deal but little more work than i wanted to do for something that should be so simple.. also there will probably be an extra millisec of damage delay

Ok so i completely forget how to use the channel ability lmao, when i give it to the hero.. and lvl it up it doesnt show up like a normal hero skill. theres a blank black empty space where the skill should go.. How do set that up? how do i make it mimic nova as closely as possible..? i was thinking maybe instead of a dummy unit just give the hero a spell book and putting the Ice move inside and hide the spellbook then when the channel skills lvl'ed i'll trigger the lvl of the Ice spell in the book. But i need help with the channel ability first. Care to make a quick demo map with it? xD i'll +rep :)
