Changing my entry, this time trying something new with the Blue Dragon skin. A very early WIP so let's see if I can finally pull something off.

Okay guys, I finally have some more time to continue working on this thing. I'm going to start detailing this area before moving on to others to get a clear idea of what I want to do, so my next WIP should be a more solid work.

WIP 3 from me. I think I've finished the first section and I like the result so far. It will probably need a few more tweaks later.

I am using the Midnight Drake card from Hearthstone as the main inspiration

Yeah, a bit over a month. Stuff can happen. IMO at least two months especially when more than 3 contestants are in.

I'm still working on my entry but progress has slowed considerably since I'm dealing with IRL stuff too.

I agree it's been a long time since the contest started, and it's not fair to drag it out any longer. I'll post mine eventually in the skins section when I finish it.

I did my best this week, but IRL things keep getting in the way. There's still more work to do, and I definitely won't be able to finish my entry in several more days, so with everyone's permission, I'll step aside so the contest can be closed.

The hair is not split in 2 parts, it's intended to be like that. Wanted to do something like a back scarf or something like that, not sure how successful I was in doing that. xD

Riki I know you've already said not to wait up on you but I wanted to include you in this message anyway. Now that we have 4 complete entries I'm going to set a hard finish date for the contest of Monday 8th June inclusive which is a week from now. After which there'll be no more extensions, this also gives me time to catch up with over things before putting the poll up

Also I'm aware PrinceYaser hasn't submitted 2 WiPs, however there is a WiP image included in the final submission which satisfies me in terms of ensuring it is their own work (which is the purpose of the WiPs).

alright lads, my entry is also in progress, sending here to show the WIP

first of all I planned to create a texture based on this creature from WoW but later realized that there is already one on this website created by Misha. In the end I chose Naga Drake created by Tarrasque and it looked evil enough with those teeth and easy to redraw.

First thing to draw is the wing and I ended up choosing the 1st option out of 3 and decided to add some scars so the entire texture won't be completely pink and dark:

and for his body and face I decided to get some lightning as magical energy source that moves on the Drake. I lately got some recommendations on YT for Witcher 3 cuts and remembered his mark on one of DLC:

So overall it looks like this now but I am planning to add those lightning 'waves' from the wing to the entire body and adjust the hexagen scales to the original texture so it won't look weird and will fit as original texture:

P. S. The original texture scales seem a bit blurry if compared to the Void-themed texture when I test on the model, I will probably sharpen the entire texture to compensate showing details and scales in a dark texture

Honestly I was choosing between Wendigo and Satyr (btw in far 2025) and wanted to create smth with large teeth and no eyes, but the body mesh of both models seemed a bit hard and I remembered that I should check models from DOTA 6.83 that I play daily and there was Netherdrake. A creature with no legs so I decided that smth like that would fit the texture and searched all drake models in HIVE

Final WIP from me. I'm currently polishing the torso before starting work on the tail, which will be the last section (apart from the other small areas).

For these areas, I'm trying to recreate something similar to this Void Dragon. It's not intended to be an identical recreation, just trying to follow a similar pattern for the design of the scales:

btw lads here is my second WIP as well, I decided to redraw teeth and make them match with the dark violet color looking close to the model.

Head, eyes and wing are done, it seemed a bit dark and I brigthen some details but it still remains dark ¯\(ツ)/¯

the hexagen scales on the face still remain from duplicated layers and it adds some shades so I might blur it or remove totally once it gets tested with the actual model. Outer wings will be cleaned up if visible on the unit because mesh of the wings of the model are tight and transparency will be restored prior to testing the model
