And this is the first weapon in that installment of gear.
"A piece of obsidian rock, carved into a blade, as hard as steel and as sharp as diamond.
Although it may be heavier than a normal blade, it is unusually sturdy. A fine obsidian gem is
cast into the bottom of the hilt."
Mesh made by me.
Textures from Blizzard.
Thanks to Blood Raven for telling me how to create a billboard for the glow.
Please give credits if used, cheers.
Enjoy.
-Update 12/07/14-
Added a glow to the gem on the hilt.
Looks really cool, though that blade does not look very sturdy with all these cracks on it
I'd suggest a little billboarded glow for the gem (maybe Textures\Purple_Glow.blp) and perhaps some sort of texture animation for the blade (something like lava cracks or something?) Just a suggestion...
Otherwise, I really like how this looks and am interested to see how the rest of the set will turn out (that style really reminds me of draenei weapons from WoW
5/5 +rep
Yeah I thought that, but it's the best texture I can get for a dark rock sort of looking weapon.
How do I make something billboarded? I am not entirely sure how this is achieved, otherwise I would defiantly add a glow around the gem.
Lava probably won't happen lol

Well, add a 2D plane using the glow texture facing the camera (front of the model, or X axis) around the gem, then place a bone in its center (probably the center of the gem aswell), then bind the 2D plane to the bone. Then in Magos, go to Node Editor -> select the Bone you want to billboard, right click and Edit Node (or something like that, not just Edit), then check "billboarded".
P.S. The texture is fine
EDIT: That glow looks awesome, keep it up
Also I couldn't help but notice the lighting on the guard behaved a bit strange in Magos, though it adds some kind of charm to the whole model... How did you do that?
Looks like the lovechild of a medieval sword and a lead pipe. That blade seriously need work.
It just kinda looks like the blade portion lack the actual blade portion of the blade.
I don't really mind the cracks though, it's neat. Personally, my way to fix this would've been to add a row of triangles along the side that needs the blade,
connected them all and then wrapped that new blade portion with a shiny black texture. Like the infernal engine texture or something like that.
It would probably add quite the amount of polies, but at least I think this would be the best way to get something akin to the initial concept.
