  • hey, an idea: why don't you add a media player to site? yes, there uis already a function,m when you link a youtube video to be converted into a player, but i'm talking about , when someone links, or UPLOADS .mp3,.mp4,.avi.ogg,.wav fiile , you click it, and the player launcehs and plays it.
Maybe the menu could be docked to the left, or when you hover, to show there, or ,like on most sites, to put three horizontal lines at the top left aka "hanburger"
hey, i read that you remove the reputation system. that's the way you shwo that people appreaciate your cointributions to the community. Why not make some similar system, but with tites. "newby", "experienced", "veteran", "honored" and so on.. OR.. since you put there reactions like, love and angry... "liked"", "loved" and "disliked"
The levelling system looks to me like "your presence in the site" because it's just number of posts, not contributions to it.

It is not just another metric for post count.

As stated in the announcement thread, users will also receive experience for uploading bundles, winning contests, and receiving reactions - the latter of which will functionally replace giving rep.

yeahi saw that likes replace rep. However, on top of the likes of an individual post, let there be overall likes on the player profile .
Reporting a bug in the beta: my threads have no replies or less replies, but in the non-beta version they are there.
The new HIVE skin is kidn of odd. Looks strange and confusing cuz im used to the usual.

Well, SE is about mumbo jumbo. And because dead links mean unmaintained site to me, I keep trying to do a bit of maintenance work on some of my posts on an irregular basis.

As for me, I have always envisioned THW as a Blizzard Games site, because there exists provisions to discuss about at least 12 of them:
    https://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/gamers-hub.565/
    deepstrasz

And that, but SE uploaded stuff takes space that could be allocated for actual important things the site is supposed to be promoting.

SE is one of the many entryways to THW. Therefore, SE imho has to be fully functional, in order to be effective as one of the ways to attract new future Hivers (hopefully).

What Hivers must absolutely do is to *optimize* their uploads. People posting HD screen captures of WC3 in PNG format could take the one minute it takes to convert them to SD JPG ones, with IrfanView for example. For the record, optimizing is what I do always with my own image uploads in SE
Hey Ralle, I try to post my map on recruitment but it never works. I got Hive to get help with some leaks.
Here's a vid of my game, maybe you will like it.

I never can find people who are interested. I have a lot of friends who love the game so far but they don't know the editor. I think maybe I need a better description and advertising. Thanks for the reply though!
Have you ever though about to put in model filter of search colors filter?
    stan0033
    stan0033
I don't mean that you to craete a tool that automatically analyzes the model/icon and creae a list of colors. I mean the uploader to check check buttons (or type text in a text box with prediction popup list). Like tags. it's basically color TAGS.
    Ralle
    Ralle
It's much nicer to do it automatically. The uploader can already just write the word blue in the description and you can search for blue.
    stan0033
    stan0033
yes you can, but searching by with words and searching with filters is not the same
Yesterday i saw the Friendly Fire Stream on TwitchTv and i saw that the HIVE Community donated Money. Did you know of this? If so then you are a great person.

@Kyrbi0: it is imho important to also visit the Profiles of other Hive members. Community members are supposed to care for each other, else it would not be a community imho.

Sometimes, one can find answers and/or inspiration in Profile posts+comments. This is why when one is using our Search feature, one must not forget to also do an Advanced Search, to ensure the Profile posts are scanned as well for any tips/answers/clues about... well, anything.

I'm not exactly sure who you feel you're informing/convincing, since I'm really on your side (re: the importance of visiting Profiles & looking through Posts/Comments). But I don't know that that's very common amongst the rest of the community.
https://www.hiveworkshop.com/threads/the-graveyard-please-read.32295/ noted that this old post needs a touchup

Not only the old moderator, but also there is a bit of conflicting information.

"We will not accept any complains about a tutorial submission being moved to the "Graveyard.""
"Instead, if there is any buried tutorial that you wish to edit in order to get it approved, do so and THEN request it to be moved."

Isn't that the same thing, except 'asking politely' rather than 'complaining', could probably be reworded/clarified

Hello there Ralle, for various reasons I'd like to remove my account but according to my research you're the only one that can bestow that power.
    Thanks in advance!

So, I see that The Hive Workshop is now giving the thumbs up to links leading to GameCopyWorld?...
When will this *insanity* finally end?!

Personally, any site name change (be it real or implied) like Hive:Underground or Hive2Scene (note: its old version, fyi) does not appeal to me.

Blizzard *must* be strongly and *positively* encouraged to make only a few more full standalone versions of WC3 (incl. those from the 1.28.0 -> 1.31.1 era) available for download/installation for everyone, in any supported language and for any supported OS, preferably without a Battle.net account and at no charge, for those who want any of them. Ideally for everybody, Blizzard themselves would have fixed those few versions, so they do not interfere in any way with v1.32.8 >

The Hive Workshop *can* and *should* be the positive force to make it happen, and instead we are indulging ourselves in *THAT?!*

FeelsGoodMan: "A "test" would be silly from Blizzard's point of view."
I do not think so. Maybe they are indecisive about something, and they are overcautious.

I agree with you that v1.32 was released in an incomplete state. I personally think the Classic Team was themselves dissatisfied with the product that shipped, and I am even wondering if the release of 1.27a could not be some kind of act of rebellion. Hey, why not?

A full 1.31 version directly available from Blizzard would spare you the trouble of spreading it yourself.

    (cont'd)

Having previous versions of the game allows for other possibilities. For example, with 1.27 combined with ReplayKit one can use replay archives. Unless of course 1.31 is still compatible with such replays?

It has been known since a long time that by saving a map to, say, 1.31, compatibility may not be guaranteed with previous versions. It is up to anybody to decide how compatible they want their maps to be.

Personally, I am waiting for 1.32 to get debloated, for those like me who did not pay for any 3D assets. Also, bringing back DX9 compatibility could help immensely many people, as not everybody wants to buy new hardware in order to run a video game, especially from version to version. It may be one of the reasons some prefer older versions of the game as well. Hey after all, one of the reasons which made WC3 a success in 2002 was its below than average system requirements by 2002 standards...
    deepstrasz
    deepstrasz
So, you want progression on the same primitive foundation.
You have 1.27. Why force them to keep compatibility for newer versions as well? Does any sane company do that? One thing is preserving like with GoG releases that might get some fix updates now and then and another to constantly patch and ensure the newest version would work on 286s.

I also like the fact that the hero that will rise amidst the chaos is also a loving father (cf the 2nd video). All in all, very appropriate and maybe up to the point imho.
