And so they sat in the highest tower of the city, and looked out upon the moonlit horizon as it stretched into the foggy unknown. The stars were glimmering, and the silver clouds, like billowing pillows illuminated from behind by the alabaster moon. The soft glow of the city lights below rose up into the darkness like a little blanket of gold warming the chilled obsidian expanse that loomed above the sleeping inhabitants in their slumbering ignorance. And then he saw it...The twinkling gems in the night, relfected in her soft, sea-grey eyes. And as he looked into her eyes, she saw the warm glow of the city, mirrored in his deep, brown, irises, falling forever downward, into black pupils, darker than the very night that surrounded them.
