So I listened to your composition, then listened to some soundtracks, then I re-read what I previously wrote to you and I came with this conclusion:
1.set the line where the violin plays(00:45 - 1:00) to play the same way second time right after the first time. (repeat) attached below
Did you know that exactly this line(slowly switching from higher to lower) reminds me of a sad moment in a epic trailer - i can't remember which. keep it.
2. Check out "edge of tomorrow - Supercell"(on 00:51-). Do you hear the monotonous beat on the background?
Can you make it the same way in the song, replacing the drums? Maybe not through the entire song
3. \At the beginning of the song I don;t think this "bright sound wave opening"(idk what it is) fits.
4. also this electronic effects does not fit at 0:33. The brief beat you put there however fits perfectly. You can
however put piano there, similar to what you hear in Devin Townsend - Young god.mp3 I will attach it
5. Can you try to put similar sounding for the opening like "Edge of Tomorrow - Return to eMpire State" (on 05:05 - 05:42).
This piece also reminds of WoW's music in Hellfire Peninsula of Outland. It created the feeling of...like you're doomed! hopeless.
Like this is the last place you're going to stay forever. At least that sounds to me.
6. I think, for choir, the choir should be male deep voice. If it's mezzo, or soprano it might give you the feeling you are dead.
You are not dead, you are about to die!
Example -
7. You can also include a note or two from a guitar, and this electic guitar distortion or whatever it's called that sound deep. Especially the guitar distortion gives me the chills.
, I will attach a cut from Hellfire Peninsula Theme below
Another example of thsi guitar dsitortion - youtube /watch?v=47Plg93oJ1M the beginning
Exacttly the deepness of the sound creates the feeling of danger.
I think most epic music is made with orchestra.
Dark violions always create the feeling of danger. With this in 1. you won me!
So... instruments - choir, beat, piano, violins, maybe some random guitar notes. You are the composer!
So... I have a plan:
- Begin the track with male choir for ~5 secs
- then add violin ambience and put the choir on background
- include piano/guiat noted and/or guitar distortion
- then put a beat similar to (2.), but again to be on the background, and make the violins darker.
- when you reach to (1.) keep it, just double it.
- then finish the track with the same choir you began, in order to create the effect of endless loop.
It is not said that the track has to be the same length you know.
Here, I gave you my thoughts. Hope it's not too much for you. Cya
