DonDustin: reduce the face count of the model and reduce the file size of the texture, as it is too high for such a simple model.

Nice idea, but you could lower the polys by making the leaves with billboarded planes using a circular green texture.

This. 991 is way to high for a doodad.

Its fantastic! Thank you a lot for this. And lower polies could be okay but 900 isn't tons. Though these will be all over the map in huge amounts. Either way I'm not sure making billboarded planes here it the way to go. It wouldn't fit with the above view.

i will try for a lower poly version, this started as a test to see if I could get the trees working... I did do a lot of cutting away from the inside of the tree to get this as low as posible with its current state.

I will try to make it lower and still look as decent with a different top mesh..

Why such a big filesize for a simple texture? I lowered it's size in about 10 times with practically no quality loss. (See attachment)

And yeah, 900 polies are way too much for a doodad. Maybe if you try to attach everything to the same mesh and collapse vertices that aren't that necessary?

It adds in some pixels but what did you do to lower it?
