This is a campaign from the Chinese warcraft 3 community. Hopefully we can "give back" in the sense that by sharing many campaigns from their community, it will inspire Hiveworkshop creators to make more campaigns, and then the chinese community can play those campaigns when the Chinese translators bring Hive campaigns to their community (so in this way, they can benefit also).

Important:
During the conversion process bringing this campaign to the latest wc3 version, 95% of all the spells/systems/honour points system etc all broke. Also, partly because of potential map corruption issues (imports changing to 0 size) etc that stemmed from previous versions of 1.36+ which this campaign was saved on, the translation is complete fully for dialogues, baring side related content on the final map, but spells/units/items/buffs are not fully translated. The author, Can Yuelang, is still happy for this translated verion, made around 3 years ago, to be uploaded to hiveworkshop so people can experience the plot, which is worth playing it for. I hope people do not judge his work based on this somewhat substandard attempt to convert it over to be playable on the latest version, since all those shortcomings are my fault as the translator. There are no attack waves on the second last map, so the author gave permission for the timer to be changed from 80-90 minutes down to 15 so people don't stand around waiting too long.

is there plans to fix the broken spells? just started, and all 3 skills of Dong Fangyu are not working. their effect seems cool and would be a pity not to see them in action.

[EDIT] Done with the campaign, thought to build a list of Demiheroes and usable hero skills, hope you guys find it useful, and hopefully free of error

Chapter 1:
Sha Da - Priest
Wang Biao - Javeliner

Chapter 2:
Xia Houcun - Light Cavalry

Chapter 3:
Xu Cun - Heavy Cavalry (dude with helmet)
Mo Lasuo - Mortar Team

Chapter 4:
Ge Lide - Dwarven rifleman, but i dont think his quest can be completed
Suo Feiya - Sorceress, but i dont think her quest can be completed
Sa Na - Huntress
Jie Liya - Herbalist, but i dont think her quest can be completed
Liang Yan - Wolf Tamer Hero
Han Si - Gnoll Hero

Chapter 5:
Sha Da - Priest, too many nameless enemies, cant tell who is the target of his quest
Nuo Feng - Spellbreaker, too many nameless enemies, cant tell who is the target of his quest
Zhao Xie - 20 holy light is simply too much, i didnt check if can be completed
Wang Biao - Javeliner, but i dont think his quest can be completed

Here are the list of usable hero skills, skills not mentioned means unusable, just get the stats buff
Dong Fanyu:
Skill 2: only grant movement speed, does not heal as suggested by the tooltip
Ultimate: I see the aura icon appear, but doesnt seem to be working

Mu Rongyun:
All works except ulti

Meng Xiao:
All works except ulti

Mo Ding (DotA Sniper):
Skill 1 works (but frankly a waste of hero skill)
Not sure what the rest of the skills do, doubt they work

Wen Di (Ranger):
All works!!! Woohooo!!!

Nuo Wei (Rouge):
Mana burn works
Not sure what the rest of the skills do, doubt they work

Xie Zhen (Javeliner):
All works!!! Woohooo!!!

Liu Yan (Paladin):
All works except breath of fire

Demiheroes
All their main skills works i think, but the supply item in the 5th inventory slot is not working

Other than the above bugs, beautiful campaign overall, good difficulty
  • I love the self reparing towers, but the autocast doesnt work, still have to manually cast the self repair
  • I love the quests to improve the demiheroes, but some are simply too tedious (for those that work)
  • Too many heroes introduced in a short campaign
  • Creeps damage are probably too high in Chapter 1 for only 2 healers, resulting in heavy reliance on the fountain and therefore, alot of waiting time.
  • For Chapter 4, understand that you cut the timer down to 15mins, but that is too short to clear the whole map. Barely clear it even with cheats and splitting my army to 2, and definitely not enough if i want to do exploration/quests/bosses properly. May I suggest, if possible, make clearing the 5 monster lairs the primary objective, and just get rid of the mission with the timer. if not theres no point in doing this mission

Currrently only really playable with whosyourdaddy since most abilities don't work and most items are untranslated, although some levels are manageable.

General:

Some items can't be dropped or exchanged, especially when held by a unit.

Abilities don't have DISBTNs. This also means that unavailable upgrades look clickable.

Several upgrades are unavailable and don't show what you need for them.

Bosses getting extra abilities and upgrades as you damage them I don't mind. Bosses fully healing when that happens, I very much do mind.

Names tend to vary: Sometimes it's Dong Fangyu and sometimes it's Dongfang Yu (and that's just the main character). Similarly, Fangyu's dad is sometimes called Panhu (I don't know if it's a title since one message is from Panhu General, it seems more like an adjective).

Regarding the profusion of unrelated Dongs: Maybe find a different way to romanize the names differently (accents or calling one side Tong or something). If Di Renjie can also go by Ti/Dee/Ty Jen-Tsie/Tsen-Tchieh/Jinkei there has to be some wiggle room.

Music only ever plays a single track that was used for a cutscene.

First level:

OK, so... why does the governor have lily pads floating above his head?

Buddy! -> ?

Second level:

Black Blade -> Black Spear? Especially since there's Angry Blade afterwards.

Was it deliberate that the dude named Dong Man turned out to be such a prick?

Why is the blademaster suddenly named?

Ministry of Etiquette? Is that the translation, or does it also cover diplomacy?

Why do they keep calling her "poor and pedantic mage"? Is that wordplay of some kind?

Mine villager still has a quest marker after you kill the ogres.

End cutscene: Nobody mentions the humans working with the orcs?

Restarted the level after noticing I didn't find the kid. The message saying (Fang)Yu had +200 mana and Devotion Aura showed up, but he didn't have them.

Third level:

Why are the heroes purple on the loading screen?

Still no one mentioning the humans helping the orcs?

Doodad tower keeps switching from Scout to Tower.

Not getting how the upgrade system works, ranged damage is removed from the blacksmith and is free at the building in the SE of the base.

Why don't we get artillery?

Fourth level:

Still no mention of the traitors?

Fifth level:

Okay, this one was more manageable (beat it without wyd), mostly because you actually get siege units. Enemy attacks were manageable, and even the pink base managed to get a good start on destroying the orange base.

You get warning messages about the pink base being attacked before it's visible.

Sixth level:

Flame Demon -> Spirit Flame?

Not only did the things I saw in my dream not pop -> ?

Seventh level:

Why is the targeting range so high for the player's units? They keep attacking enemies that should be far out of acquisition range and end up dumping multiple creep camps on you.

Spider boss' Avatar uses the "for Khaz Modan" sound.

Some wolves belong to the Forest Spiders player, trolls to Spiders and Gnolls, gnolls to Trolls...

There's a "mercenaries are supposed to stay in the base" message that keeps playing when moving units out of the base.

Eighth level:

New hero's aura SFX is two white squares.

When you meet the prince, the camera stops moving with a building taking up most of the screen.

wyd'd the assassination part, presumably you're supposed to pick off the farseer's guards one by one and run away to heal, but since they stunlock you...

One of the peasants stayed blue and belonging to Temporary Ally after regaining control of the base.

Two untranslated messages played after getting control of the base.

No one mentions there's an entire base of traitors? Or did the dialogue not trigger?

End cutscene:
  • "Enemy tech upgrades" counter is still visible and counting down.
  • instalment -> installment

Overall, this is mostly good due to the plot that's an actual new setting instead of those "add OCs to Warcraft" ones. Maybe if it was properly fully translated and the abilities replaced with functional ones it'd be recommendable.
