Still most of the mods (like me) share Darky's opinion about map protection. Best protection for your map is to upload it here, so everyone (especially the mods) know that it's your map. Sometimes I'm wondering if you guys get money if your map gets hosted in b.net, else I don't know why you care that much. I know that mappers like it when many people know their map and it's played often in b.net, it's some kind of honor, and map stealing puts anger in the heart of every mapper. But making it impossible for other mappers to open it isn't the right way, why not creating a website for it, e.g. like "Tides of Blood"? In my opinion that's the best way to tell the world that this map belongs to you.
For which reason do you make maps? Do you simply make them so other guys see how good you are in map making and can praise you, or do you do it because you simply like making maps? Think about it. And still, we don't allow discussions about map protection until Darky changes his opinion, so I'll lock this topic.
@Angelusz:
You won't be warned for uploading protected maps or simply saying that you do it, we (especially VGsatomi) only don't like to see it.
