So I am just foolin around with the editor trying to create something. This is what I have done so far but it needs to be improved. What do you guy recommend?
(The surrounding will be dealt with)
The terrain is quite simple and also you only used some imported materials to make it more beautiful but here is more:
When taking screenshot, it is best to show also your sky because mostly we, terrainers look for it also. (maybe...)
Terrain is quite flat and what makes it not at some point is the cliff there but please do remember apply raising too in random different areas but avoid on manmade tiles for they look bad.
Terrain is quite empty. I suggest put some doodads, destructibles o such in the roadside or in the road itself. Mostly rocks, bushes and maybe units also.
Now for more tips. Those are just the basics:
When doing trees, for more realisticness. I also miss or forgot on applying this to be honest. When putting trees, they must have different scaling size and better scattered because trees are not really meant to block.
Try doing some tile mixing liek grass with dark grass or such. Makes it quite not that dull.
Now more harder:
Now, I have just said, you should show your sky. Also you can change your sky to something that is fitting. Just go to Scenario >>> Map Prefernce and you can change it there. BTW dont forget to turn on or check either Sky or Game View Settings so you can see the sky you are applying.
Fog is also an option on adding here. You have variety of colors to choose from. To apply a fog just simply go to Scenario and Map Option and go look for Fog then Check it and there you can change the color of your sky.
That is all! Seeing from your title that you are a Basic Terrainer but to be honest, its quite fine for a basic terrainer. Just some improvements and you're good to go.
