This is an idea I had that I liked a lot. It's like a normal hero arena, except in a larger map that is like a real environment. It's almost like survival of the fittest, you choose a hero and try to kill all the other heroes on the map while avoiding the dangers of the environment you are in.

The whole map would consist of several areas, things like the coast, the woods, the deep forest, the grassland, the canyons, the mountains, the highlands and the swamp (perhaps other things like the Enchanted Glade or the Caves...). Each region would have its dangers and bonuses, like the swamp would have quicksand and crocodiles and swarms of insects as well as being hard to travel through, but it would be good for stealthy heroes; the woods would have wolves and bears and other dangerous wildlife but be good for agile heroes and hunters; the grasslands would have stampeding animals or something but it would be good for very fast chasing heroes.

There would also be side "quests" to do for items, money or to learn new spells, some villages you could go to to trade things you find for money and buy new gear.

The map size would be epic, by the way, there would be no other way to fit all this crap in there.

So what do you think of the basic concept? I love it personally, and it's totally something I could do, because I could make a cool map and show off my terrain :p

Yeah, and steals your money, exp and creeps

Well that's how shit works. You have to be careful about that.

And there isn't really exp in this game... you don't "level up" in a sense, but you get stronger by doing different things like fighting other heroes and doing quests.

By the way, "creeps" don't drop money, or anything really, but there will be treasure chests and boxes and stuff in their encampments, or if they are wild animals they might drop a pelt or something you can sell.

sounds good, but...

"like the swamp would have quicksand and crocodiles and swarms of insects as well as being hard to travel through, but it would be good for stealthy heroes; the woods would have wolves and bears and other dangerous wildlife but be good for agile heroes and hunters; the grasslands would have stampeding animals or something but it would be good for very fast chasing heroes."

- whats to stop them from staying in their area of strength, avoiding the other areas they would be at a disadvantage against other heroes

"try to kill all the other heroes on the map while avoiding the dangers of the environment you are in."

- so no revives, or limited revives, gold cost to revive, or something else?
