Well your information is slightly inaccurate the O is not for Open MMORPG actually stands for Massively multiplayer online role-playing game So when a game is ORPG it's actually saying it's an Online Role Playing Game. When a game is called ORPG it's kind of implied that it's a small online multiplayer RPG game.

Still, why does it not have Multiplayer in it's name.

It's just the gaming community terms when it's ORPG it's implied that it's already multiplayer since it's online. If there were a lot of people it would be an MMO not a ORPG

I don't make the abbreviations lol This is just something game developers kind of decided. I took a few classes in college on video game programming and simulation and design (I was actually going to major in game design before I switched majors) and these are actual terms they use. it is a little silly but that's how they classify them. I guess having the MORPG makes the multiplayer online redundant but placing MMO informs you that it's actually a large scale. I'm sure it would be acceptable to classify Gaias as a MORPG and there wouldn't be anything wrong with it, but it's certainly not wrong with being a ORPG either. MORPG's are used on occasion. In the end I don't really think it matters what it's classified it's so miniscule.
