Very easy trigger. U use a spell and suicide after 10 sec.

  • Suicide
    • Events
      • Unit - A unit Begins casting an ability
    • Conditions
      • (Ability being cast) Equal to AA Suicide
    • Actions
      • Unit - Add a 9.80 second Generic expiration timer to (Casting unit)
Why does this cause lag?

Hmm yes I see. There really is a small "lag" but I don't think it's in the trigger.

Sorry but I don't think I could help you out here

Final edit: My idea is that the dalay is caused by the ability. More precisely when you cast it. But I'm not sure if the triggers have anything to do with it...

If you have a large number of units in the map your using it on,
then it could cause a lag whenever you add anything to a unit or create a unit.

I've had this problem before and if yours is caused by lots of preplaced units,
then only fix is to either remove units or spawn them via triggers.

Ofc, if I'm wrong then whoops :)

Make sure the delay occurs after initial casting only.
WC3 is prone to initial cast delay (sometimes caused lag as the game freezes not allowing input) some times due to it having to load a model inorder to progress. As such only if it occurs after a second cast is it really a problem.

First time casting lag can be reduced by preloading used models. However ultimatly people will just have to put up with a bit of it. Most modern PCs do not really notice it even due to the imprvements in hard disk transfer rates.

Could it be that the ability just has to load for a while in your Computer? Like, certain abilities, when used in-game, would cause a bit of 'Lag' because it's usually very erm... 'Big'.
