when the heroes change ownership, an interesting thing can happen. the f1-f4 and according icons for the heroes can change. it can be annoying and troublesome, and quite as much unwanted.

how to fix it?
one thing i have noticed is that it seems to be whichever heroes entered the map first, they are at the top of the list, the ones entering later further down on the list.

so, is there any way to rearrange the hero icon list that's in the top left of the screen? i remember there being a way somehow to hide or show hero icons up there but i don't remember how do to that. but that's not what i'm trying to do but may be related to it.

i just don't want to remove the units and add them back after the heroes have already been picked...just seems like there should be a simpler way.
i guess i should not change ownership of the unit and instead remove it and create a new one. that would be more simple. i guess warcraft 3 has a somewhat buggy hero selection system(referring to f1-f4 selection) anyway...so obviously there's no native that gives me what i want.

ya hiding the interface icon might be the thing to do...afaik you can't trigger to hide or show it so it would have to be a permanent thing.
i guess the frustrating thing with creating the unit again is i have to then remove the items that i manually put in the inventory and put them on thne hero when i create it....that seems like a chore. instead i'll just copy and paste them and delete them from the terrain i suppose...lol. it's brutal, but it seems fitting.

obviously a hero can be a hero without their interface icon and i'll consider removing them all, but for now i'm not sure that's what we want for the map. yeah i remember at least a couple of benefits from having the interface icon that we probably want to keep.

however...hiding the interface icons for temporary heroes is not a bad idea at all. i haven't planned to put anything like that in my map but i know other maps have had such things. i might decide to put something like that into the map later, but for now i can't think of where they would fit in the current game i'm making.
