So I got a problem or two rather about w3x and w3n files and I've gotten these problem since I built it. ( I use Windows 7 as my OS if it's any help.)

* When I try to open a w3x file with World Editor my computer dosen't find it and instead it opens an emty w3x file with absolutly nothing on it. (This can easily be fixed by opening the w3x file from inside WE however.

*When I try to open a w3n file with WE nothing really happens whether I try to open it from outside or inside WE and that's a big problem if anybody knows how to fix thios please tell me.

I think I had similar problems when I was installing/placing certain warcraft 3 miscs (jassnewgenpack if I remember well). After removing/placing somewhere else such files, everything turned back to normal. If you have any files in your Warcraft 3 folder that is not installed by the original Warcraft itself, you may try moving the files away from it (I know it sounds funny, but it worked for me though).

Sorry then, I'll try again with something new.

When you say "nothing happens" (In the last part), there's not even an error popping out?

EDIT: There could be a solution for this.
If w3n file is used for Reign of Chaos, and w3x for Frozen Throne, then what you have to do is the following.
Give the map to someone you trust, and let him "place" a "Spell Breaker" in it, so the map becomes w3x. If you dislike putting a unit, you can also try adding custom environment effect, or pretty much anything that Frozen Throne supports, unlike Reign of Chaos.

Well actully when I try to open it WE is opened but it's an emty w3x file and when I try to open it from inside WE the w3n file isn't showed on the list so WE probebly don't see any conection betwen the w3n file and WE.

And I need to ask the guy who sent me the file if it's for RoC TFT.

Both w3m and w3x files open fine by double click. This includes them using my JNGP to open them, and not just the normal WE. I use Windows 7 64 Ultimate.

If they do not open fine then you have one of the following...
Some file path to either the editor program or the map is too long and so cannot be opened using the open system of Windows 7. This can happen if you nest the map or program too deeply inside folders or in folders with long names.
Your registry entry for the w3m and w3x file extensions is damaged resulting in it not issuing a valid command when trying to open the file. This is often caused by "system optimizers" which "optimize registry" but in fact are doing nothing at all to boost system performance and can break program registry entries.

If you use JNGP then the cleaver guys who wrote it provided a configuration file that when opened will automatically install the necessary registries for JNGP to load both w3m and w3x maps via open. This file can also be force run from inside JNGP through one of the menu options.

Well you say that maybe it dosen't work because I have WE in a folder with a to long name the problem however is that WE only works if I have WarCraft 3 in a specific folder. (C:/Users/UserX/SavedGames)
