This is weird; I did numerous tests on the talent resetting already (in singleplayer games, but you are playing solo aswell so that shouldn't matter) and this never happened to me.

Also, the screenshot looks odd. What's with the icons and textures?

I'll check this out when I get home. I think we had this problem before and if I recall correctly, this is caused by the map optimizer.
