Description
This mod changes Warcraft III in one fundamental way: only heroes are controlled by the players. The other units receive their orders through the heroes. Each hero has a flag that he can place on the map and his army will go and fight at the flag automatically. This leaves the player free to concentrate on using the hero and his abilities, as well as grand strategy.
For a map, I'm using a modified (by myself) version of Blizzard's Duskwood map. It fits very well the need for a large map with enough areas to give Warleader gameplay enough strategic depth without unneeded complications.
Obviously, I would be very grateful both for bug reports and for reviews, so just go ahead and play and tell me what you think!
- Fixed a bug that allowed Blademaster's Instrumend of Death and Song ability to damage buildings
- raised the minimum Suppression cap from 10k to 15k, making rebellions less likely to occur during the early game
- Fixed a bug that allowed some abilities to destroy trees
- Fixed a bug that allowed the High Guard Outpost to revive dead heroes instantaneously
- Fixed a bug that made the Necromancer's Necromantic Poison immune to dispel by the Arcanist's Fulmen and Silentium abilities
- Fixed the tooltip of the Commander's War Cry ability to accurately reflect that the damage required for a War Cry proc is not 4 but 5 times the sum of the Commander's attributes
-Added the Army Details multiboard: whenever a player selects one of his heroes, the Rebellion Details multiboard dissappears and the Army Details multiboard appears instead: it displays in great detail the maximum size of that hero's army, what increases it and what troops are currently in the army; this should make it much easier to perceive when a hero's army is full, empty and why troops can or can not be added to it.
- fixed a placement bugs with several factories that caused them to sometimes spawn units locked between trees and unable to move
This isn't your usual melee map, friend; it's pretty much a new game. Sorry I couldn't pack it in tighter, it's something I'll work on in the future. It's bloated because of some nice models for the 4 custom races made from scrap so.. yeah..
Could you please post a link to the Warlords map you're referring to? I've searched the Hive for maps called Warlords and haven't found one that's similar to mine.
There's a thing called tooltips. If you [cough] read the tooltips [/cough] you'll see that the army size is limited. A level 1 hero can command 3 soldiers, level 2 - 6 soldiers, etc, until level 6 (18 soldiers) and afterwards the default army stays at 18.
You can always buy army items and increase the size that way, to a theoretical maximum of 90 soldiers. Also on this subject, a level 2 unit takes twice the space of a level1, level3 - 3 times the space. So 6 Archers (level1) = 3 Guardians (level2) = 2 Champions (level3)
