Warcraft Map wont Start

I load the map up in singleplayer, and press start.
The screen moves and returns to the map selection.

No loading screen, no nothing.

Whats wrong with my map and how do I fix it?

rename the mapname to a shorter name.
Also is the map an old map? A patch made by Blizzard a couple of years ago broke some older maps.

no this is a newer map, I imported the object and trigger data from an earlier version.

Ill try the name change now.

Singleplayer>CustomGames>Maps>Test>[FRITZ]> Start Game


The screen borders move like its about to go to the loading screen, then it returns to the 'Test' directory.

If you are using JNGP make sure JassHelper builds the trigger script file without throwing any errors. A single syntax error and it will fail to start.

Also, in JNGP pre 2.0 version, you need to hit "save" once after using "save as" or you'll have the problem as described.
