Warcraft 3 sets my monitor to a resolution it can't support

Gonna make this very straightforward though it might just be a simple problem I don't know how to fix. Been running 3 versions of wc3, those being 1.31.1, 1.29.2 and 1.27. They all worked properly before and had no problems whatsoever; but for some random reason, the resolution set on two versions suddenly aren't supported by my monitor and only 1.29.2 works. Any ideas on how to fix this to make the game playable?
