I don't actually remember that. Do you have a pic of it? Are you sure you aren't mixing it up with another game's unit?

In warcraft 2 it was simply daemon or demon.

I think they are like the first rendering of doomguards, as I remember their attack being a fireball from their swords and they being a little annoying...
