While I definitely like the idea it feels too much like a recolour rather than original drawing.

Yes the redrawn hexagen scales follow original model despite being drawn from scratch. The blue parts were meant to have lightning too but felt like that color choice is poor in this instance. So I draw wings first, then duplicated other parts from this and pasted them to fit the original style that had these parts in orange color

If you look at the head the blue parts are saturated and have different tone in comparison with the wings.

Rather than that there are no parts in original texture on the body and head of the drake.
