It's a problem in easy mode, maybe you should read past comments before post and you'd notice I already know about it and have fixed it for the next version. Here's what you do, don't pick easy mode.

Now replying to Missing Number, no I didn't use the idea from him, considering this is the first time I heard his name. I suggested a while back that we should put in some MegaMan style instant death lasers and spikes, we got the lasers and I put off on the spikes in case of making it too difficult.

But if you want we can talk about this though PMs.

I noticed that halfway into the game (just after choosing my character), I start to lag a lot. I don't lag at any other maps but the lag in this map is massive. I tried hosting the map on two different computers but they both had the same result. Is there any way to get rid of the lag? I believe my comp. specs are good enough, so yeah.

Pretty nice RPG. I like it.

The only big problem I see is the fact that most bosses from the middle of the game have spells that can instantly kill most heroes in one hit. If this is intended for 8 and can't be done without zerging, with the levels you reach and gear you get by the time you get to those bosses on two people, I don't see how it's supposed to be balanced.

Also Link is overrepresented and gets like over half the gear in the game. Oh, and why isn't Lavos the end boss? You mentioned him in the loading screen :<

Otherwise, it was an enjoyable experience! :)

Allright... and the other issues? Mainly the one about one-shot spells...

(May I point out, I just played a game and I was a 6500 HP link, and I had just died from a random oneshot ability. Then I ran up the entire path through Northern Crater and right-clicked Bizarro Sepiroth, which killed me.)

That is a bug, he isn't supposed to be able to one hit kill you, bring you to red hp but not kill you.

Guide for noobs:

This is not a save/load RPG.
Don't play unless you are willing to dedicate hours of on single game.
Do not pick easy mode, it lags.
Learn where all the items are.
Collect all the mushrooms early in the game.
Stay Together.
Share potions/mushrooms.
Don't hog all the items.
Orb effects don't stack.
Orbs don't stack with lifesteal.
Don't waste your time exploring the large map. A player who has already explored the map is probably in your game and would tell you if there was anything over there if you asked.
Don't touch lasers.
Don't stand in front of doors that aren't open, there is a laser on the other side.
Don't waste all of your mana on the first form of a boss with more than one form.
If someone dies, have Hanzo run back, use speed boost and stay with the person using his aura to move him along.
Have a Second Chance (revive item) before fighting a boss, sometimes they can kill instantly.

Suggestions:
Smaller area between worlds, what do you need all that extra space for?
More items for some, less items for others.

Some people don't get items for a long time, while others get items very early.
Maybe have an item for everyone in each level? No matter what the theme.
I'm sure that's not a problem as lots of items are already in worlds they don't belong
(Megaman World has Sonic shoes, one of the gems for Link, Mario items, cloud item, so on)

Shorter levels please!

Don't give people super fast attack speed while others have super slow...
Example: sonic gets way more kills than Vivi very early, until Vivi can get enough mana to cast like crazy.

If not shorter levels, then maybe a checkpoint halfway in the level?
Maybe even a checkpoint outside some boss entrances.

The wolf mini-boss in the megaman world didn't come back after healing

vile did a perma-stun in second form, had to die to get rid of it.

gato still not fixed x.x

monster in well didn't give reward (usually does)

Cloud stuck in air and invulnerable

The wolf mini-boss in the megaman world didn't come back after healing
I've fixed that for 1.9e.

vile did a perma-stun in second form, had to die to get rid of it.
I am currently fixing that.

gato still not fixed x.x
I've changed the way you fight Gato for now, no longer have to buy it at the training area. This is how it'll be for now.

monster in well didn't give reward (usually does)
The person who delivers the last blow to the Monster has to talk to the Quest Giver.

Cloud stuck in air and invulnerable
Which skill, or which combination of skills did Cloud use?

still can't get out of megaman world if you aren't out with timer and have a second chance...
I think I've figured out a way to solve this.

hey Tatsuma now I have a character suggestion again lol.

Captain Falcon, the Chuck Norris of video games, I mean you know Zerox did a low filesize version of him, so you could probably add him to the map, and probably replace earthworm jim since most of the guys say he's to nerfed or to rigged. Besides I like Captain Falcon, FALCO PAUNCH!

I'd say replace Knuckles with Captain Falcon, Knuckles is lame, unless you can squeeze him in there. I got ideas for his moves too

Blue Falcon- the blue falcon (his racing ship) flies in a straight line damaging anything in it's path.

Falcon Kick- Charges his leg with his semi-phenominal nearly cosmic power and knocks back an enemy.

Captain Aura- Bask in Captain Falcon's aura of awesomeness- increases allies atk/move speed or increases allie's attack by X % per skill lvl. Either effect would suit him.

ULT=Falcon Punch (pronounced Farrcooooooon Paaaaaaaaaawwnch) Charges his fist with all his might and knocks enemy into GG-ville.......and seems to almost destroy the galaxy o.o

Here's the Falcon Punch in action if you don't know what I'm talking about:

first of all...knuckles isnt lame geesh
hanzo already has a speed aura and the dmg version would be kinda OP due to the fact that there are already items with command aura.

also, afaik the new characters which are planned in the future are fox mccloud and bomberman(u can already see them in the loadingscreen btw)

Long time forum reader, first time poster here.

This map is incredibly well done. Through all of the character models, boss fights, and team work involved to defeat said bosses, I must say that my group enjoyed playing this game a lot. Its difficult to find games on Bnet other than DotA sometimes, but you'd be happy to know that when I do publicly host this, it fills almost immediately.

Now with that out of the way, I would like to comment on the characters that I have played through the game with. Now my character experiences so far are with Megaman, Mario, Samus, Kirby, Alucard.

MEGAMAN
Megaman's buster shot. The delayed shot of the charged buster sometimes makes people in public games do a double take. The early buster is incredibly powerful. The problem with the buster shot later is that when you get megaman's first upgrade for it, his charged shot now waits double the time to shoot 2. In which case megaman is probably gonna die since he can't move out of spells during that time but he can take damage. That's my only problem with that upgrade. It essentially becomes a pray and shoot thing when fighting bosses. Sorry if this was mentioned in the threat earlier I do apologies if it was repeated.

The next ability we have is the sub tank. A very powerful ability indeed. Really nothing else to say about it. Long cooldown is warranted.

The Z-saber attack seems ok and powerful early game but it appears to lose its effectiveness once it caps out. Regular attacks from megaman with other items can do more damage than the saber once megaman starts getting incredibly powerful items. (IE Saber time to attack < time just auto attacking) At least that how it felt. The light stun on it is fine for assisting on stunning bosses. But it also requires megaman to get into melee (which only happens during Nova Strike)

X's Ultimate Armor is a fine addition to X. Gives him the staying power to tackle bosses head on. Coupled with another characters life leech like Alucard's, and you have a Megaman that's capable of tanking for quite a bit of time. No complaints on the armor from me.

X's upgrades from the capsules seem like fairly strong items starting, but that power seems to taper off quickly and between the time it takes to get the final two upgrades , you feel like X is more dead weight item wise than the rest of the team. True sight helmet is fine. The Giga crush upgrade is awesome (but could you perhaps add a bit of spell reduction to it too? since it reduced both physical contact damage and ranged attack damage in his games.) The first buster upgrade I explained earlier , and the second buster upgrade is even more interesting.

(Was not using orb items for this rundown here.) The normal speed buster doesn't increase X's attack speed by enough to even warrant using. The ice buster is a fantastic anti boss hitting tool if nobody else has an ice attack. The electric buster does ok damage but, I was wondering if there was a purge attached to it as I didn't see one go off after quite a few hits. The fire buster I think needs a much larger noticeable splash. I honestly didn't recall what the fire buster did to other enemies near it. The dark buster is amazing for a team without Samus and the plasma beam. Its essentially an armor ripping attack and fantastic against bosses. The Tornado Buster says it bleeds HP from targets but I felt like I was doing the same damage to them with the normal buster. Might I suggest perhaps making the tornado buster do a stacking de-buff like what the firelord hero does with his passive (IE 1 shot 12 damage, 2 shot 24, etc) just don't have it stack indefinitely (that would be a bit OP).

Sorry for the incredibly long read. If it wasn't appropriate of me to suggest anything , I apologize. If you would like me to discuss the other characters I played please inform me. Thanks for creating this awesome map, and here's hoping blizzard increases the MB on map size over Bnet for SC2.

I like some of the suggestions you just stated. For the Z-Saber/Sabre I was thinking of once X gets his first buster upgrade that the Z-Saber's effect change so it shoots a blade out at the enemies, like seen from X3. One the note of the first buster upgrade, it increases the damage of the X-Buster by double though it takes a tad longer. I need to increase the moment of the charged buster (right now it moves a tad to slow).

Also X is a interesting character considering unlike the other characters he has only four hero skills.

Mario

Skills
Jump Attack- Decent damage skill with a minor stun at the end. Only complaint I can honestly say is the deselecting that happens when it is used. (Same thing with most jumping skills) Its a minor inconvenience at best. Goombario's Jump attack also makes Mario a bit more micro heavy than most of the crew (if your aiming for maximum effectiveness, not as micro heavy as a well played robotnik but you get the idea.) I wouldn't change anything here.

Star Power- Here's a fantastic move for Mario to use during heavy boss aoe attacks and to get some free damage in. Keeps Mario healthy through otherwise lethal damage. My only suggestion is leaving the duration as is, but reducing the cooldown for the last rank a bit (perhaps 15 sec invulnerability every minute (raise the mana cost if you must).

Fire Balls- Now this is where a debate can definitely brew. From my honest opinion, fireballs rock. There is a minor detail wrong with the tool tip (30 mana listed but it really only costs 8). At the early game a fireball heavy Mario will be incredibly mana intensive, but his added damage will definitely make up for Mario's slow attack animation. Fireballs appear to be adding a significant amount of damage to Mario's attack (he starts one hitting Goomba's at level 2 with no additional items involved.) The only argument here is the other spell casters that will argue with Mario over the wizard ring :) (No complaints here)

Firestorm- Mario's bread and butter skill. This is the ability that makes Mario such great support during the game. A massive aoe stun ability that stuns for as long as Mario gets a clean channel. Its a fantastic ability and there really is nothing else to say about it. The cost is perfect and the cool down is set so that you just can't chain stun bosses to death.

Super Mushroom- I like the idea of giving Mario a spell immune form to help him tank, but a part of me thinks that this ability feels more like a placeholder than anything else. Sure Mario gains some HP and spell immune, but it feels like its incredibly lackluster when you compare Mario's ultimate to say X's ultimate. A suggestion that I like is to make it so Mario's ultimate is the hammer bros suit. He can gain his spell immunity but allow him to throw ranged hammers for the duration with an attack speed increase and a damage boost. Plus its a nice throwback to Super Mario Bros 3 (one of Mario's greatest games.) You can let Luigi keep his ultimate .

Items
Mario's Hat- Perhaps listing the amount of increased attack speed and movement speed would help people make a choice of whether to keep it or to chuck it for later weapons. Right now, the attack speed boost is useful, not really noticing a major move speed bonus.

Feather Cape- Ah a classic power up item with a slightly lackluster ability. You give the cape the bonus of improving Mario's ability to take spell damage and it blocks a spell as well, but this item usually gets replaced by a 45 d item or an ultimate sword (depending on a tanking Mario or a damage dealing one) The cape gets worn for just a little bit. (most class items in the game are usually best in slot items for that character , same should be for Mario.) Maybe make the cape have the ability to reflect a spell cast at Mario (or easier to code, make Mario spell immune with it on. You could also give it a movement speed bonus.

Mega Hammer- Honestly it seems people would skip this and just opt for the ultimate sword in its place. (maybe but a 5-10% chance to stun his enemy?)

Tanooki Suit- While I enjoy this throwback to SMB3, I think the suit could be improved by applying a taunt to it much like Kirby's rock form. This could make Mario a fantastic late game tank.

Goombario-
Mushrooms- best ability this little bugger has! Not related to the game of his spawn, but he does help support the VG team with near unlimited health items. No complaints here.

Headbonk- Does the damage a sidekick should do. Its added damage to being able to micromanage Mario successfully.

Goombario's Cap- A completely overpowering item and so early. Makes Goombario do more auto damage then some people heading into stage 2 (near full game of course!)

Goombario's usefulness comes from the fact that he can be given aura items and not have slots wasted on Mario. He essentially becomes the aura bank. Other Goombario builds could see him stacked with his cap and 5 ultimate swords for a nasty damage dealer.

Items aside, Mario has very solid moves. His main hat gives him a huge AS boost and a minor MS boost. I honestly think if you wish to keep the Super Mushroom ultimate, at least make Mario's armor divine for the duration. If you wish to go the hammer suit route, it would give Mario a much needed ranged attack if he wished to be a damage deal and he could tank like a champion with it anyway. Overall I think Mario's items need the most work here.

I'll never understand why public plays of VG RPG always end with people saying Mario is worthless :( Next summary and suggestion will probably be Samus.

Samus
Skills
Weapon Upgrades- Fantastic passive ability. Max rank increases Samus's rapid missile spam and her beam weapons by a significant amount. No complaints from this ability. Scales well with items as well.

Rapid Missiles- I love active auto abilities like this. Missiles spam nearby targets or one major target til they have exhausted their count. This is a great crowd damaging ability in addition to being a great boss ability. Was wondering if the missiles count as magic or physical damage? regardless, the ability is top notch and well made, fits Samus perfectly. I will state this, I was unable to locate the Samus super missile upgrade. I feel like I am unable to fully comment on the ability at this time considering my inability to find the super-missiles. Otherwise this ability is fine and actually quite useful in the early parts of the game if you opt to put points into it.

Charge Shot- I think this ability needs an overhaul. It appears to have absolutely no effect on anything currently. Either I'm blind and just didn't notice , or its not doing what its supposed to be doing. Either way, might I suggest that you make the charged shot an on next attack ability (ie, Samus charges and then when she shots next time the added damage is in that shot.) I think this would change the shot from what it appears to be ( an X buster charged shot clone.) Otherwise, this ability seems to need an overhaul. It doesn't appear to do any damage at all on anything its used on.

Speed Booster- A great through back to Super Metroid. Fantastic running ability with some decent added damage on the side when you get really close to enemies. This ability will mostly be used by Samus to run very fast when evading Bosses or to just move from point A to point B very quickly. While speed booster will be used early game, late game its effectiveness practically makes it not used (final samus suit gives max speed).

Zero Laser- The most powerful beam attack in the game. This ability cements Samus's role as full on ranged DPS. I wouldn't change anything here.

samus's items
Spazer Beam- Samus's most used beam in the game. This beam essentially helps samus deal aoe damage where she lacks the most. The Spazer gives samus a 4 way shot (3 + her auto attack). The Spazer also stands as the only beam capable of working with life leech. This is an incredibly powerful scaling beam. Might actually be a bit overpowered with certain items late game. (IE O-saber + spazer = critical hit 4 way.) I wouldn't change this beams location though, as it scales with Samus and early game Samus has difficulty dealing lots of damage.

Varia Suit- A very powerful early game upgrade for Samus. Helps protect her from early boss single target heavy hits and it gives her decent stat increase. No complaints here considering how Samus's suit upgrades work in the game. When its time for her to upgrade she is at a perfect spot. (IE feels really good how Samus's upgrade progression flows in the game)

Ice Beam- The beam seems to have a passive attached to it that also might not be working. I had the beam on through all of the halo stage as a test and did not see it proc a freeze on anything. However, the effectiveness of this beam is completely up to current party make up. If you have another slower in the group who uses ice attacks, its worthless. If you don't have another slower, ice beam becomes a godsend on bosses. I'd say give the passive ability of ice beam a quick look over and see if I merely was unlucky with procs.

Wave Beam- Ah the almighty wave beam. This is Samus's beam of choice for bosses if an ice attack is present. She can use this beam to do pretty much the highest amount of dps out of all auto attackers in the game. Criticals in the late 1ks are possible with this beam (1800ish+). No complaints here with this beam. Very well done both artistically and practicality.

Gravity Suit- This suit renders Samus magic immune. As part of the magic immune crew in the game Samus gains massive amounts of damage and speed boosts with the gravity suit on. she runs a bit faster , attacks faster , and becomes magic immune. What more could you want! Great upgrade at the halfway point of the game no less.

Plasma beam- This beam shares a common problem with X's dark buster. The armor reduction is too low for late game bosses to matter (eve if Samus's plasma does critical as well.) Best to make X's dark buster and Samus's plasma beam do at least a 50 armor reduction. Makes people want to use that beam in melee heavy groups. Otherwise the beam is fantastic for some other bosses who aren't running around with 200+ armor. This beam is very situational, kinda like the ice beam in that regard.

Fusion Suit- Samus loses some stats with this minor upgrade but gains a life leech attack. There's a problem though, it essentially breaks the plasma beams armor reduction, and the ice beam's debuff ability. A suggestion for not breaking them, perhaps make a trigger active that allows Samus to gain .5% of her current hp per attack. That might allow samus the useage of her other beams. Wave still works and surprisingly Spazer does too. Fusion suit is just a stepping stone til ...

Omega Suit- Prime reference ftw. This suit has it all, magic immunity, max movement speed, massive agility and armor bonus. This suit is the ultimate in samus upgrade progress. Once you get this suit you feel pretty much unstoppable. You also get the same current problem of a useless plasma beam and ice beam. Perhaps whatever fix you can do to the fusion, can definitly be applied here.

Super Missiles- never found them sadly. I will post something here if I do find them.

All in all, samus feels incredibly fleshed out in this game. More so then most of the cast to be honest. She gets incredibly decent upgrades, has a fantastic weapon system, and she gets her upgrades at a great pace (omega even coming towards the end of the game.) Just a few problems with a few items and abilities and Samus could very well be a contender for the best designed character in the game so far. I highly recommend Samus be picked by anybody when playing this game. She's a fantastic dps role for your team.

Thank Sean_D who revamped Samus for 1.9c and up. He didn't finish what he wanted to do with the character at the time so some time in the future he'll add onto the character.

As for Charged Shot, it's broken in 1.9d, but I've fixed it for 1.9e so rest assured. I've also fixed the whole Life Steal problem with Samus for the next version, as it goes into the beams list so you can switch between the beams.

Kirby the star warrior of doom!

Kirby Skills
Hammer Smash- Probably one of the best single target attacks in the game. A large amount of front end damage with a small stun attached to it. A very overlooked skill on most Kirby players. I honestly think this move has perfect cool down time and perfect stun duration with fantastic damage capabilities. No suggestions or complaints here.

Warp Star- A nice aoe damage and slight stun attached to this skill. Though it does take a while to hit, when it hits it does massive aoe sized damage and at little to no risk for the flying Kirby. Good skill to invest points in.

Final Cutter- Its like an incredibly weaker version of cloud's sword beam. A few heroes have line damage attacks, but I honestly think Kirby should have copy power replace this ability. Have copy power become his new ultimate along with inhale , so that perhaps you could then setup Kirby with a samus type weapon screen where he can decide which copy power to use. (this would require some redesigning on Kirby's part but it does bring in his greatest and most signature of all of his abilities: Copy.) Either boost Kirby's final cutter damage so its worth something late game or at least replace it with a synergy move with inhale.

Stoneform- The best team ability in the game is stoneform, hands down. Stoneform is the best support ability in the game, allowing the rather slow and squishy Kirby to become an unstoppable wall. The auto taunt on stoneform allows dpsers to spam the very living crap out of whatever Kirby is tanking. Obviously this ability is a little worthless solo, but honestly, you shouldn't be playing this solo anyway. This ability gets an A+ from me.

Inhale- A great ability of Kirby's that I honestly would like to see involved with him being able to copy forms as well. Inhale boosts Kirby's str and intelligence by a considerable amount if used in very large groups and at every cooldown available. No complaints here, but a suggestion. Allow kirby to gain various copy powers stated from above with a unique ability associated with them. I think it would add a considerable amount of flavor to him.

Kirby's Items
Dedede's Hammer- I like that it gives Kirby a boost in damage but an AS as well? Its a pretty big hammer! Maybe move the AS to meta knights sword. Also the hammer is liable to being replaced later by an ultimate sword. Might want to look into buffing it slightly with a passive ability (IE 5-10% chance of .5 second bash?)

Meta Knight's Sword- A fantastic damage upgrade for a Kirby player. Critical strike means that Kirby won't be fighting with others over the O-saber. A fantastic best in slot item for Kirby. No complaints here.

I honestly find Kirby to be necessary if nobody else picks a major tanking character in the game (Alucard comes to mind). Kirby is just that powerful with stoneform. Sure he can't move or heal himself but he honestly doesn't have to. Especially if Kirby manages to get all of the Heart containers.

as a side note, I really like the beam system in place with Samus and wish a system could be applied to Kirby's copy powers as well. Perhaps even give him a third item that gives him a little extra something (IE perhaps even a tanking item, or a regen item.) Kirby has probably the second worst item progression in the game (Sub-Zero being the worst.) sure Pikachu gets 1 item but that 1 item makes Pikachu a powerhouse. Kirby can be played as a dpser with stoneform, but he is best played as a tank. I honestly like to see Kirby get picked more but I feel his incredibly slow early game makes people wish they were someone else. Perhaps giving him a decent early game item (not the sword or hammer mind you) would help keep people playing the pink puffball.

I had a lot of people telling me that the DPS skills (excluding Inhale) were to weak so for the next version I just increased them all damage wise. I'll see how this works out in the next version and if people are still unhappy I'll just have to go though some changes with his spells. Also Stoneform WAS supposed to allow you to move but at a very very slow pace and attack at really slow but problems came from it. So for now it's just a stationary tank skill. Hopefully in the future we can change this to what it was supposed to be.

If I made Kirby sound like a horrible pick, you can disregard that. Most definitely Kirby is well worth it. Just gotta hang in there past the first few stages (at least until the deku tree , which my groups normally do after Seph).
