[General] Very pathetic question about map hosting

I wanted to ask what's the maximum map size that can be hosted through Battlenet,Gameranger, etc.. I'm not talking about it's size in Mbs, I'm referring to the map's dimension, like .. can I host a map with it's size being Epic, Huge?..or am I only allowed to host maps with lower dimensions such as Large, Medium or it doesn't matter (the dimensions of my map)?

480*480 is pretty much the max. After that more and more issues start to occur. Even then, that map is so large that performance is usually very bad, especially if it is full of content. Very few developers have ever fully used 480*480, with most users often having >50% of the map un developed. I would recommend aiming for a smaller map size to start and expanding only if absolutely required.

If you are making an RPG, try re-using the same areas. This gives more content without using more map and makes the map feel less empty.
