I looked for over two hours to solve this so I did put in the effort. There are many posts about setdaynightmodels but no one mentions that their units are still brightly lit.
I watched this video is why I am under the impression that both the terrain and units should be dark:
. At 1:54 he shows his map dark with dark unit.

But what I get is shown in the included picture.
I set the time of day to midnight. What is going on??

ty sooo much for sharing your map! I will probably be using your fog trigger in the future. I was messing around with my settings and I noticed my options said my tablet-monitor was being used. Then it changed to my normal monitor by itself. I went to my display settings and told it to never switch to tablet(even though I had it on one monitor already). I used Full screen and then the game would auto-minimize so I changed that back to Full-Windowed mode. Anyway, after now boring you to death, one of my maps did show total darkness, but the one I made(of the pic I attached) STILL won't do it! Very weird. I think I have enough clues to continue trying to make it work...hopefully.
