Units and buildings don't have upgrade I assigned

I'm trying to have a unit have an upgrade/ability. In the object editor, I assigned the ability to the unit using the Abilities-Normal, and the Techtree-Upgrades Used sections. I've also put the ability in the building to be researched, but there's nothing on either. How do I fix this?
