If you want to use triggers to do so, there is the Animation - Change Unit Flying Height action. You can use it on ground units too by previously adding and removing the Raven Form ability of Medivh (Amrf) to/from the desired unit once.

You only want to change the height when entering/leaving the wall. If the wall is straight and fits to the 32 grid you may consider regions with enter/leave event. Else it can get hard to determine whether the unit is within the wall depending on its shape. As for events, a combination of periodic timer, approximate region entering/leaving or unit comes in range could be appropriate.
