Unit Upgrades

I'm working on a pretty big project alone.
One of my ideas is actually taken from another succesful series, Age of Empires, where units can be upgraded into better versions of themselves. this already happens to the Troll Headhunter -> Troll Berserker, but I don't know how to make it so each unit has it's own upgrade. I want to make an "upgrade x unit to X2 unit" upgrade. I've already made a separate "upgraded version" of each unit (with slightly better looks and higher stats).

but I don't know how to "link" the unupgraded version to the upgraded unit.What do I need to do?

Do what Blizzard did with the Troll Headhunter. Add the ability, then the upgrade.

it doesn't find my custom units. Well, it actually finds most units, but it doesnt find the upgrades of Frozen Throne specific units ( the upgraded Spellbreaker, Obsidian Statue, Destroyer, Mountain Giant, the Naga units etc.

You sure you re looking at the right place? In object editor, the very right tab "Upgrades"?

If I look at the berserk upgrade of troll-hunter it lets me choose to any other value I want.
