unit select more --- triger help

hi guys..srry for my bad english

warcraft 3 dont support more than 12 units selection .. so i want this:

when i double clicked on 1 unit.. All similar units are selected..Of course, only nearby units..like command and couquer generals

is it possible ?

please create this in map and give me

Try asking @GolluM_KoMe as if memory preserves, he has done such a work. Alternatively, there was this hacky workaround which is buggy and prone to crash.

The simple logic is to make the unit formed into group and appoint captain of the said group. Units then follow the captains' orders and when the captain die, replace with other random unit in the group.

More complicated in practice though than the concept though.

Would you like your units to move in squads?
What Daffa suggested is possible, and there's even a system premade for that here:

Well, I'm not sure that what you want is a regiment system; but a simple thing that you can do is this (as I don't think double clicking can be detected) :
-give all your units a clickable dummy ability (the same one)
-whenever you want to select all units of a certain type, use the ability
-when the ability is triggered, it selects a dummy unit for you as your unique selection and it stores the UnitType (or stores the nearby units of the same type)
-when any order is given to the dummy, it orders all units of the stored unit type (or all the stored units) to do the same

It is a bit clunky but it's quite easy to realize and it should work nicely. Sorry I can't do it for you though I wont have access to war3 for quite some time, but if this solution suits you, you may ask someone else.
