unique ability

Hi ^.^.
I had today an idea for an ability that will be very unique:
lets say that the hero has 175 mana so the normal abilities say "you need x mana for use this spell"
in this spell the idea will be "you need DARK ENERGY" so you need to use your MISSING Mana insted of your corent.
lets say that a hero has 175 mana so the cost is 75 mana means the hero can use the skill as long as he has more than 75 mana missing (he has 100 mana and the cost is zero mana / he will get mana for use the spell but will lose 75 hp ,things like that etc.)

I need ideals for this new system of spell.

I know how to make the triggers. But i need ideals for the effect. "dark energy"
that work on opposite direction of mana known so far (maximum mana less the ***required*** mana) 175 mana hero will need 100 mana or Less to cast this. and this will take hp instead of mana.

Dark energy skills...What the hell can it be?
Ideals gathered so far:
175 - mana "cost" = in this case 100 mana and there for the summon unit that is a undead zomby will live for 100 seconds.
As you can see this idea is able to be made but need better creativity.

The first thing that comes to my mind is a sort of like a back and forth type ability synergy:

like using mana often sends forces out away from you, like fireballs, summoning creatures, etc.

So, for example, you would have an ability like that, then you would have a negative mana ability that would do the reverse of that... like the reverse of a damaging projectile would be... summoning a projectile towards you from a location, and when it gets to you it heals, or de-summoning a unit that would then give you a buff...

something like that.

EDIT:

Or maybe it could be like... if you have more than half mana then it has the first "normal" effect, but if you have less than half mana it has the alternate effect... that's sortof a different idea, but i thought it was cool :p

I think I have an idea
Skill: Thunder Clap
Effect: damage and for 5 (3) seconds slows the movement and attack of nearby enemy units.
new Effect: slows move and attack speed and set your mana to %.
any 10% of missing mana gives you +1 sec for it lasts longer.

example: you use the skill with 100% mana it do only slow for 5(3).
second exam: you use the skill with 10% mana and it will last 5+9 (3+9)
