Undead Survival Map

Live Undead To Living Dead

Live Undead to Living Dead
Soon I will add screenshots when I find about how to add them.

About the Live Undead:
It is a 4 played team-based survival shooter.
Monsters spawn in waves in two rounds each is 30 minutes long.
After two rounds comes final boss, between rounds there are mini bosses.
Hero Classes: Pyromaniac
Project`s Status: Abandoned

About the Living Dead:
Living dead is a remake of my old map Live Undead.
It will contain graveyard from original (wider) plus cathedral from inside and catacombs.
Each location (graveyard, cathedral and catacombs) will have its own enemy types and tiers plus special mini bosses.
Hero Classes: Pyromaniac, Crusader, Priest and Sorcerer
Project`s Status: In Development

I have made a similiar map.

But instead of only Riflemen players were able to choose their class. And undeads spawned as waves/levels. (thought to random locations). Example lvl 1 is Ghouls lvl 2 is Skeletons. And at the end of every level there was a boss that had to be killed to enter to the next level.

But I never polished it enough.

Map is now in early stage terrain is complete, now I work on old enemies, new ones and their tiers, also there comes hero classes as well as old items plus new ones.
I need more suggestions and ideas. :)

Make different creatures react differently to different spell types. Say, you have fire for Pyromancer (obviously), Crusader is physical, Sorcerer is smth like arcane and Priest is healer, I guess.
Some undead would be highly vulnerable to fire, but would also become ignited, gaining immolation effect - so they damage all nearby units, both friends and foes. Some kind of abomination-like monster could become overfilled with gas from fire damage and explode violently.
Caster-type undea may gain mana from Sorcerer's attacks and spells, unlocking more powerful spells.
Physical attacks could cause splinters of bone to fly in all directions.
Some undead may have an aura that would deal damage to each hero healed by priest.

That kind of things.

Good idea, but I can`t do all of it. I am not skilled in spell making, I will search for others` spells that could be of use. Thanks for help!

It's not that hard.
First instance would be something like "When unit starts effect of an ability, target unit is equal to X, ability being cast equal to A or B or C (all heroes' fire spell), then add permanent immolation to target unit of ability being cast"

Second instance would be like "When unit starts effect of an ability, target unit is equal to X, ability being cast equal to A or B or C (all heroes' fire spell), then explode target unit of ability being cast and cause him to damage area near him"

Third instance would be "When unit starts effect of an ability, target unit is equal to X, ability being cast equal to A or B or C (Sorcerer's spells), increase mana of target unit of ability being cast by Y"

Fourth "When unit starts effect of an ability, target unit has a buff X equals true, ability being cast equal to A or B or C (healing spells), deal Y damage to target unit".

All easily done in GUI.

You can add screenshots by clicking the Insert Image Button (
insertimage.gif
) above the box where you type your message.

A popup will appear and it will request for the Image URL. Just right click on the desired image and then select 'Copy Image URL'. Image Shack might not be able to read your screenshots since they're in a separate type of file on it's own so you're gonna need to download an image converter. So your map will only be set in a kind of graveyard like area? Is this set in fantasy or modern type of survival? Like Swords or Guns?

Is there a difference between a Pyromaniac and a Sorcerer?

Thanks very, very much for your time and help! The map is set in fantasy world (both with swords and guns plus magic).
Pyromaniac and Sorcerer are in fact different. Pyromaniac is kind a combat specialist, he relies on raw power of his rocket launcher and great health plus faster regeneration. Sorcerer is however very different, he relies on powerful magic and mana regeneration so that melee combat is not his style but he will be able to fight in melee. Please note that sorcerer will not have a fireball or something like that as his basic attack mode, if he needs to throw a fireball he will need to cast it.
Soon I will move to Map Development forum so I will ask for this thread to be closed.
