Tree chain lightning

Well then it is spell problem. Many spells are heavily coded, which means modifying could be hard or impossible. Looks like chain lightning is coded that it just doesn't work on trees. One idea what I thought is that it is because debris, tree's and all that stuff doesn't have attachment points and maybe that's why lightning can't strike it. But that's just my thought. You can, however, achieve this with triggers.
