I'm the terrainer for my project and I am having difficulty with this part of my terrain:

(Pay attention to the space between the forest and the barrens)

The problem is I don't know what to put in the middle... I can't extend the forest because it would be ugly if the two met each other, and I can't put water between them because that would be unnatural for the barrens.

Can I request that you give me some tips, guides, ideas to what I should do with the middle part?

What do you mean first icon on the terrain editor? Or do you mean the terrain palette? If that is it, then there are lots of icons there.

Basically, use the rise and lower tool with various sizes of the brush.
- Don't be a slack-ass.

I suggest you make some form of rocky, canyon-like down-drop with bridges or pathways going down and up the canyon to cross, natural looking ones, such as made by tilting rocky doodads, or tree doodads, and making them pathable.
