Mostly as what Xonok said, you will need DDS or Damage Detection System. But I do thought of a way. When a unit is attacked, attacked unit equal to your unit and attacking unit equal to your tower, for the actions, give the attacked unit the ability Hardnened Skin. Only the let down is in the first attack, it will take a damage so recomended is DDS.
Isnt it possible to modify the Game Constants and change the damage to 0%? For example. You give the units you dont want to take damage heavy armor and the tower has piercing. You set the damage piercing does to heavy armor to 0%.
