hi
i want to build a map with some friends but have the problem that we live very far away so we cant meet to build this map.
the question is if there is a tool that allows us to build the map over the internet
so we dont have to send the map to each other after we edited a little thing...

I assume you'll have to use Dropbox, which is probably the easiest way...
Every time you want to edit the map, just open up dropbox and you can edit the map.
(Installing it correctly only takes a few minutes as well).

Obviously not as good as... co-op editing (?), but it's better than using e-mail or whatever.

It's a tool with which you can share folders with everyone you'd like.
Just drop the map into a folder you share with your friends and they'll have your map.

Google "Dropbox", install the program and it will automatically create a folder.
Inside that folder, create another folder (called "Maps" or something) and right-click it, select "Dropbox -> Share this folder". Now you just need to fill in the e-mail addresses of your friends and once you put something in that folder, they'll get it as well.

Sounds more complicated than it is, and it's a lot better than mailing each other the map constantly.

He doesn't want to share a bunch of maps, he wants to edit the map and whatever he changes, those changes to be applied on his friends' map files, in order to prevent himself from sending the maps over and over again for tiny changes. Sounds impossible (not really, but well) :p
I know that, but he doesn't have to send the map this way... if he opens the map through the dropbox-folder, then edits it from there and saves it there as well, his friends can edit the map without having to check for e-mails, go to sites or those painstakingly stupid download-methods
You don't have to send the map over and over again with dropbox (afaik), you just put it in a shared folder and everyone's happy.

(This is how a friend of mine explained dropbox to me, you're allowed to kill him if it's not true)

Long story short:

Go to dropbox.com and register :p
They'll register too and send you a request.
Accept it. Then, the files they put in their dropbox folder will
download to yours.
Your files will also upload to theirs :)

you're allowed to kill him if it's not true

Just give me his address and he'll mysteriously go missing ;)

It's working like attachment, all files in drop box are available to group of users :)

But still few of them won't be able to work on same file at same time.

Still the best way (to me) is to split job:
Some dude can work on terrain, another one on spells and again another one on object editor, then just user WE settings to move triggers and objects from few maps to map with terrain :)
