Too many units

Hi, I decided to make a map which is going to have a large number of units on the screen at the same time. I was thinking that after 10 years with much more powerful hardware, Warcraft 3 can´t cause any problems. So I tried to fill my map with units, just to see if it would cause any lag. While I haven´t noticed any lag in game, the problem I noticed is far more atrocious. I posted the video as it is difficult to describe the visual corruption.

I was thinking that the game is simply not made for rendering lots of polygons at the same time. Then I tried to import much more detailed Grunt model with like 2 times more polygons than the Shaman has and as you can see in the video, no distortion. I used more models to find out, that number of polygons was not the reason. Nor the texture.

Does anyone encountered this problem? What may be the cause?

First of all, putting a lot of of the same players units will cause this problem.
For example if you put 500 Footman for player 1, will lag (in and out of the game).
I suggest you create alliances (Player 1 with player 2) in which player 2 will be computer move units who follow your army.(Use triggers)

Finally another problem might be the model itself. There are some specific models (in the hiveworkshop too) which create this problem.
In order to find out which one causes this problem put the same number of units (for player 1) but instead of these units, put footman.

it depends on ur pc on how many units till u lag and warcraft 3 is an older game it could be tht it only uses one core of ur pc i dont know if it can use the ful potential of ur graphics card and for the 500 units if u spawn them all at once tht will make it lag do it in smaller quantities like 10 or 20 i tried to see a max for my pc doing 10 units every .1 seconds and then moving the units to a spot in center of map and got the total count up to 10k units spawned b4 i gave up trying to make it lag although every once in a while when units got stuck it would glitch for a very small amount of time then fix itself again

It is not about spawning them at the same time. There won´t be any spawning, it will be just a map with mass battles, so there may happen to be even hundreds of units.

I thought the same thing, but as I demonstrated on the video, that is not the case, as a grunt model I replaced the shamans with has 1300+ faces, while shaman has like 400-500 faces. Also I tried to use even larger model of Dragonhawk, which has 3000+ faces and no glitch. Then I replaced them with unit with same amount of polygons and it distorted as hell.

I also tried doodads. I imported a Pine model, which has 5000+ polygons and replaced large mass of trees with it. While it obviously lagged, it hasn´t caused any graphical glitch.
