The map with the Melee Map components

There are Azeroth Wars: Legacy Reborn, Lordaeron: The Aftermath, Lordaeron: The Foremath, Kalimdor: The Aftermath, Dark Ages of WarCraft maps, etc. Are they considered as RTS or Altered Melee since they include the classic way of training army units and researches from the buildings but without the mining, (getting the golds by the amount of capture control points) that each player controls different faction (each type of race) with different kinds of units, buildings, events, (triggers for the global activities of meeting certain conditions on the map) spell levels researches, etc?

But will the map(s) being considered as RTS as well, or just being the another category?

RTS is an overarching genre.
Altered melee is just similar to regular game, but not.

So it's both.

The Strategy/Risk definition used for the Map section alludes to a mutually exclusive status with altered melee. If it's too similar to Melee, then go for Altered Melee, if there's much different than Melee in gameplay element, go for S/R.
