Hmm...will be keeping an eye out then, if the model causes problems, then I'll replace it. Thanks for letting me know. ^^

As for ability screenshots, I'm still working on her abilities, will post some screenies of her using them once I'm done with at least half.
Although right now, I'm working on getting units done for the first area, then completing her, so it may take a while until I finish all her spells and have screenies :/

Waiting for the abilities. Make it cool, triggered, and has cool special effect not just original Warcraft 3 effects.:grin:

Yeah, all of the heroes' abilities will be triggered, won't be using regular WC3 skills for them (or bosses) :p As for effects, I'll be using custom ones mostly for more eye-candy, unless an original WC3 one fits the spell more.
Gonna start working on the hero now, since most units in the first are are almost ready. :grin:

Have you got all the ideas ready for your spells or do you need some? If you tell me what your hero is like I could come up with some, I feel creative this morning :)

PM me if you are interested, and if you already have some planned, no problem! Can't wait to see the first beta release of this map, I love dungeon-crawley games and there hasn't been a good Warcraft III one (in my opinion) in quite a while :)

Well, I've made a .txt file with spell concepts for the hero, but constantly changing it, so I haven't come up with something permanent as of yet (except for her ultimates and innates). Although, I'd appreciate some help with her regular skills :)
I can send you a PM of what the hero is like if you're still interested ^^

Hero Preview: The Berserker

Well, I don't have much to show today, but the concept of one of the heroes is finished, and made the game bloodier, so everytime a hero or enemy is hurt, some blood comes out. A little more blood when they die. :p

Strengths and Weaknesses

The Berserker is a melee DPS class that relies on combo-ing her spells to use them at full potential. Some of her notable capabilities are:
- Using health along with mana to use her abilities.
- Unable to use Shield-type items.
- Can carry Two-Handed Weapons as one-handed weapons
- All her abilities apply or consume a "Mark of Blood" (which will be referred to as "MoB" from now on)

Innate Abilities

Bloodthirst

Upon activation, the Berserker gains a lifestealing attack and increased attack damage. If she attacks a unit with the MoB buff on it, she causes it to bleed, dealing stackable damage over time to it for a very short duration. (This doesn’t remove the MoB Buff)
Devouring Flame

Launches a firebolt at the enemy which damages it, and returns the amount of damage dealt as health to the Berserker. Afflicts MoB to the target.
With Mark of Blood: The Firebolt causes the target's blood to boil to a high degree, detonating the target and returning part of its max life as health or X amount of damage that would’ve been dealt as health to the Berserker, whichever is higher.
Regular Abilities

Infernal Smite

Leaps into or out of combat, damaging all units in the area she lands in, and emits a fire nova, which damages further surrounding units. Units with MoB will be stunned if they are in the landing-damage area of effect, while they will take damage over time if they are hit by the fire nova. (Units that receive land damage will not receive fire nova damage or the DoT effect). Afflicts MoB to the units that received land damage.
Hellfire Dash*

The Beserker uses her mastery of fire and blade to rush swiftly across the battefield, burning and cutting [damaging] any enemies caught in her way and knocking them to the side. If any enemies hit by this dash are afflicted by MoB, they are briefly stunned and the Beserker gains a temporary small armor buff. Any enemies hit are afflicted with MoB.
Shatter the Weak

Launches a large firebolt at a targeted unit which homes on it. The firebolt damages all enemy units it passes through, gaining a stack of Wrath for each unit it passes through. Upon impact with the target, it damages it, and instantly kills it if it’s below X% HP. If the unit is afflicted with MoB, then the firebolt explodes, dealing AoE damage to nearby enemy units. Damage depends on the amount of Wrath stacks. Afflicts MoB to the target and units affected by Wrath splash damage.
Flamebathed Blade*

The beserker bends fire to her will and lights her mighty sword on fire. This increases her damage done by % of agility, and causes all of her normal attacks to cleave. All enemies hit with normal attacks while this buff is active have MoB applied to them; however, auto attacks cannot consume MoB while this is active. This lasts for X seconds.
If the Beserker uses Infernal Pummel, Hellfire Dash or Shattering the Weak with Flamebathed Blade still active, all enemies with MoB afflicting them have the mark detonated, and are set on fire for X seconds for X damage every second.
Rampage

Lets loose a powerful warcry, which increases the Berserker’s attack speed, movement speed and reduces health costs on her abilities. The health return from MoB consumption by autoattacks is increased when under Rampage.
Shield of Bloodlust*

The Beserker focuses and consumes all MoB marks from enemies with X radius of her. Using this energy of fire and blood, she forms a shield of pure rage around her, which absorbs more damage for every MoB mark that she consumed to form it. This lasts for X seconds.
While under the protection of the shield, any attacks from enemies afflicted with MoB heal the Beserker instead for X% of the damage.
Ultimate Abilities

Demonbane

Taunts all units within an area to be forced attack the Berserker. Taunted units that attack the Berserker receive damage equal to % of the damage they dealt. The Berserker also deals more damage to these units while they are taunted. Units that aren’t taunted but have the MoB buff and are attacked by the Berserker while Demonbane is still active are taunted until the end of the spell. Units under MoB have a chance to receive more damage.
Tectonic Fury

Slams the ground, releasing an earthshaking shockwave towards the targeted area. The shockwave damages all units it passes through and lits them on fire, dealing damage every second. Upon reaching its destination, it causes a small earthquake, which slows enemy units within it, and causes rocks to fall down from the ceiling, damaging units within the AoE. Afflicts MoB to units that it passes through. Units under MoB are dragged by the shockwave and receive more damage over time.
Sinister Brutality

Disables the enemy unit and the Berserker, while she strikes him multiple times, dealing % of her Agility as damage. The final strike deals more damage than regular strikes. Units under MoB suffer bonus damage for % of her Strength as well. The final strike also afflicts MoB to the target.
Mark of Doom

Summons a powerful firebolt to crash down the area, damaging and stunning all units within it. Units with MoB will also have their armor and spell resistance drastically reduced for a short duration, and will receive more damage from the Berserker. They are also afflicted with the Mark of Doom buff, which counts as a Mark of Blood buff, although not consumed by other abilities.
Note: When a Mark of Blood buff is consumed, it removes all positive buffs the target has along with it. When a Mark of Doom buff is “used”, it also removes all positive buffs the target has, but unlike Mark of Blood, it doesn't remove itself.

Loving the character design! Seems like the combat in this map is going to be really interesting, complex, and fast paced :)

Thanks! And yup, you'll need to combo your abilities for the best results :p (most of which will have rather low cooldowns, with the exception of ultimates)

Hmmm, the terrain is not that astonishing but its neat enough for playable terrain, what really caught me the most is the character design, its really well made and the abilities really fits each others. I can't wait to try this map when its out.

Glad you like it! And yeah, my terraining skills are pretty average, but I'll try to improve by practicing and reading some more terraining tuts in the future, I guess.

Good ideas there. I see that synergy.
Just suggestions:
Add some self-support abilities, or make abilities have bonus/passive effects.
Maybe some bulking abilities? He cant live forever. If not bulking, then give her more speed-boosters.

Hmm, I'll add bonus passive effect(s) to some of them then. Although, I'm trying to avoid giving heroes fully passive abilities, aiming to give them actives only instead, so that the player will (almost) always have something to do.
Oh, I also forgot to say, all heroes will have a special regeneration ability, which will restore health and mana to them (not up to full though), but it backfires and damages the hero if it's attacked, and has a long cooldown. (made this to eliminate "wait here for a few minutes for the hero to regenerate" scenarios :d)

Love the spells. LOL, the spells are like those in war that the warrior jumps and attack the enemy. Cool! +REP on that!

But I say, dont focus too much on the spell. There are more heroes to do.:wink:

As for other heroes, I will probably work on the second one (either a Necromancer-like one or a Blood Manipulator) after I finish the first area and the Berserker, so that there will be at least one complete hero and area. ^^

Edit: Actually, on second thought, will probably continue working on the first area and then complete the hero. Also, sorry if I don't update daily, just recently got into Doom games. :p

You keep surprising me! Cool enemy! Baron of Hell sounds so hell I like the name! BTW, Looking at the screenshots, I have an idea for a quest on this one. Wanna hear about it? :wink:

Well, this is a quest. You are to escort a unit (whatever unit you want) on a certain place (Its your idea of the place). You will be granted control of this unit. Before you reached this certain place, you will meet this Baron of Hell (lots of em!). The escorted unit must survive or mission fail!

My idea of the place where this Baron of Hell dwells:
... A place that is on a hallway that is dark and full of Baron of Hell.

I like that quest! :D I will probably put it for Act 2 or 3, since too many Barons will probably kill all the players easily in Act 1 (unless it's near the end). Or actually, that quest could fit for the secret area I'm planning, so I'll use it there :grin:

Well, you can put that quest on Act 2 or 3 but you can too in Act 1. Just give the hero an ability like Wind Walk that affects also the unit you are too escort like a AOE Wind walk but this skill is only useable in this QUEST!

You know Legend of Zelda about the Hourglass in the DS? You know the part when Link is to enter the Temple of Seas. He needs to avoid those Giant Knights and should go to the next floor. This quest is like that except that it is an escort quest.

Hmm...maybe I'll make more escort-type quests as optional ones in act 2 and 3 (with rewards), not sure about them being time-limited though o_O
I don't really want to rush the players. Maybe something like monsters constantly attacking them until they get to <area> or <unit> dies?

Hey guys, I need some help with items. I need a holy armor/weapon (mostly defensive/keeping the carrier alive), a counterpart demonic weapon/armor (mostly offensive/helping the carrier kill) and another item that is created by merging the two above (something that helps the carrier kill at the cost of its life and/or has a chance to backfire)
Note: The items are intended to be used as powerful artifacts, the holy one growing in power as the player levels up and the demonic one as the player kills. The merged one by both factors.

Any ideas?
