Arena survival in FF world ? First idea i have is to develop your mage in in many ways like Ice , Fire , status (protect , slow ect) summon , battle mage ;p
And to gain exp you fight epic bosses from ff ;]

And to gain exp you fight epic bosses from ff ;]

thanks for the ideas, i'm working on the casting system now :thumbs_up:

I attached an omnislash with a Cloud Strife model that is not too shabby.

Then, I remembered this was a mage map, not a final fantasy map >.<

But, I'll leave it for ya if you want it. Its not mine though. Hive's or th.net

Any ideas to make it unique? Random objectives? More famous mages like Gandalf, Merlin, or Harry Potter? hahaha

Objectives like king of the hill, but monsters sspawn on the hill.

Then, you could get a reward for winning, idk. Just throwin stuff out there. gl

Ooo, you started work on it. ^_^

Are you planning to have more elements than the one shown in the video?
(How) are you planning a cap for charged elements?

Random Suggestions:

  • Make elements grant a passive bonus to the hero when they're charged with one. (ex: bonus life, resist to damage, movespeed)
  • The number of elements the hero can have is based on their level something. Any elements charged when the hero already has the max will replace the first element the hero charged. :p
  • Have different elements be based on the primary three attributes. (ex: Earth's damage is based more on Str)

If he wants to remake somewhat magicka in wc3 your hints are somewhat steps in the wrong direction.

You aren't supposed to get rewarded when holding many elements, because then you can just charge up and spell and wait for enemies.
In Magicka you loose movement speed, but you can also apply a different penalty if you like.
Carrying mass elemnts should definitaly don't give you any boosts!

In Magicka there exists no lvlving, you just learn advanced combos over time. Especially with S/L some sort of lvling by killing (as i guess?) wouldn't fit to the skill-based gameplay.

The attribute thingy could be done, but only if you dont boost your stats otherwise than a startup setup or reskilling.

Rewarding a player for killing another one in a big way takes out the fast paced gameplay and wouldn't fit at all, imho.

I was thinking of this suggestion with there being a cap on how many elements you can charge or in some way limiting the spammability of charging elements (like having a cooldown).
This does seem to work better though if the boosts are penalties so that the players should spam spells more in a fast-paced game enviornment.
Especially with S/L some sort of lvling by killing (as i guess?) wouldn't fit to the skill-based gameplay.
True, there is a problem if people are rewarded too much based on killing. Hero level could just be an indicator of how many elements they can have (would only work if exp doesn't do anything).

The attribute points could also be periodically given to all players. Everyone receives the same amount and can put them in whatever they want.
