Terrain Experiments

[Hawkwing]

Here are a few more terrains I came up with. I decided to use Born2Modificate's high-res terrain pack for a first time and the other screenie is my first attempt at making some sort of sun.

1. An evil king rules over the land from his dark castle in the far corners of his kingdom.

2. A journey awaits you, for there is still a long way to go. A sunrise above the plains ahead.

Fairly descent. Good use of fog and lighting effects.
I like the atmosphere in the first one a lot, and the shape of them (photo-like).

Keep it up.

The second one was more of an experiment with the sun, the area around it is less of the focus. It wasn't even gonna submit it but one screenshot dosen't seem like enough to judge.

Nice! The sun looks good, but the black spot on the left looks bad. Tip: Don't resize the images, crop them, but don't resize them.
In the first one, you need to use more tiles, also, the raised grass on the rock looks a bit bad. Tip: Use the blackish tiles, they make it look more depressed/evil.

Hmm didn't notice the black spot.. it is so small.. I didn't resize the image either..

I'll try black tiles next time.. The rock isn't floating. I guess it just looks that way =D.

I know the rock's not floating, but yer grass is! You made it that way too

Good tile variation. Good light/fog combination. The rest is ok.

 

[Naze]

In the first screen, there must be some space between the castle gate and the hill.

Oh, and nice fog.

You should work more at that background.
