Temporary range increase

Is there any way to make range bonuses temporary, so that I can remove the bonus with triggers as I want?

I've tried with setting research levels, but it is not reversible, even with jass.

it is not reverseable? so you cannot make a higher level that reduces the range again or set the research again to zero?

Nope, you cant reverse upgrades. Changing units attack range for a short time is not possible, afaik.

what about giving the unit a trueshot aura in a disable spell book? then remove it when your done.

Trueshot aura increases ranged damage, not attack range...

Replace the unit with another unit with greater range. Or use the metamorphosis spell.

Well, seems like I really have to use metamorphosis. Guess we can't always do things the FAST way.

You can use the rifleman range upgrade...

As I have mentioned above, the rifleman range upgrade is irreversible.

Never mind, since I can use Metamorphosis as a replacement, I'll consider my problem solved.

Well - you could give the unit a standard range of i.e. 900 and setting the acquisition rate to 800
Then, trigger an increasement of that acquisition range to 900 and set it back after a certain amount of time
