I am making a tech tree of sorts with my heroes and im asking for original ideas that i might use or build off of to fill them. All the tier 1's are general heros like Hero of Blade, just a general hero that ranks up into more specific types. The tech goes from Tier 1, A generic hero, which branches off into 2 groups, Dark and Light versions. (Like staff would branch off into Priest and Necromancer.) Once teir 2 they branch off again into 2 versions specifying their mastery. A swordsman could give up attack speed for damage or vise versa as their mastery.

A tree for Shield, Blade, Staff, Wand, Woods(as in hunters and archers), Arcane, engineer, Stealth, Brute(as in hand to hand). If i use ur idea and my testers like it i will credit it and give you +rep. Thank you anyone who shares their ideas.

Some of my ideas:
Blade>Holy Swordsman>Speed;damage/Blade>Samurai>Speed;Damage
Staff>Preist>Healing spells;Damage spells/Staff>Necromancer>Minions;Attacking Spells
Woods>Huntress>Range;AS/Woods>Archer>critical;AS
Shield>Crusader>Armor;Vitality/Shield>\\\\\\>\\\\\;\\\\\

Hi there
I'll give it a shot, though I'm not sure precisely whats required for the masteries.
I've made it so there are 4 variants of tier 3, and given them placeholder masteries.
Tier 1s ---> Blade: Swordsman, Staff: Apprentice, Shields: Squire, Woods: Woodsman, Hands: Fighter, Stealth: Thief, Engineering: Tinker

Tier 1___Tier 2___________Mastery

Blade___Light - Protector___Speed - Zealot
________________________Attack - Paladin
_______Dark - Raider______Speed - Berserker
________________________Attack - Reaver
Staff___Light - Priest______Damage - Monk
________________________Healing - Saint
_______Dark - Warlock_____Damage - Inquisitor
________________________Minions - Necromancer
Shields_Light - Knight______Attack - Crusader
________________________Defence - Templar
_______Dark - Marauder____Attack - Desolator
________________________Defence - Immortal
Woods__Light - Archer_____Criticals - Marksman
________________________Range - Ranger
________Dark - Footpad___Criticals - Stalker
________________________Range - Sniper
Hands___Light - Brawler____Damage - Thane
________________________Dodge - Battlemaster
________Dark - Brute______Damage - Mauler
________________________Dodge - Fiend
Stealth__Light - Scout_____Damage - Vigilante
________________________Stealth - Watcher
________Dark - Rogue_____Damage - Assassin
________________________Stealth - Phantom
Engineer_Light - Blacksmith_Mastery1 - Engineer
________________________Mastery2 - Architect
________Dark - Forger_____Mastery1 - Saboteur
________________________Mastery2 - Vizier

Hope this is kinda the stuff you wanted, tried to make 1 word hero types. But you can prefix with Dark/Light on most of them.

Sure, but people may have diffferent views on the look/idea of each one, so there's room for a lot of alterations. I'll do my own ideas of what they should look like, a wc3 model similar to it and some spells that sound right.

Hmm, so thane would sorta be a large built man or dwarf, with two knuckledusters of some sorts and a decorative helm, but little else. I imagine a slight viking appearance. Nearest wc3 equivalent would be a large mountain king without the weapons. Abilities not too desimilar; avatar, thunder stomp and bash sound like good starts.

Desolator, in this context, could be a evil looking knight with a large shield, bulwark in style, and preferably with a spike in the centre. other weapon is whatever is preferred, I imagine a small mace. In wc3 models, a skeleton warrior shield is the most important bit, or a reskinned footman (defend ability is useful there). Try to make the shield large. Spells would be mostly shield bashes (called overwhelm, overpower etc) and maybe area of effect damage over times, like mini death and decays (maybe called desolate, dampen magic/strength)

Zealots would be armoured duel wielders, but with robe/tabard adornments to show a pious nature. I would imagine a demon hunter, reskinned to human (or remove eyeband) with two swords instead of glaives. Spells like charge, fury or smite sound zealoty.

Footpad would look like a highwayman, however you imagine them. Could even be called a highwayman, but footpad has a more medieval connatation. Bandit model (the ones with spears, brigands?) is the easiest to use, not much needs to be changed with that. Ambush, stricken, hide, exploit vunerablity, stuff like that ;)
