~Hiring~
To hire me you need to:
*Be able to keep yourself motivated and promise that your product will be published in a range of 2 months after the terrain is finished.
*You must have access to Skype.
*You must be able to record the progress of your project with voice documentation and show the progress in public by publishing the video and showing it in a map developing thread well formed with the use of BB codes.

To put it simple, I will not terrain for any 4/5 projects with undedicated project members not having the resourses required to create a good map.

If you are interested you can add my on skype (Zorenas_Adrian), I got a microphone and I'm online all the time while I'm at my computer.

If you got any questions or statements to make feel free to post.

Lastly, why would I do this for you on my free time?
I am dreaming of becoming a professional terrainer, working in a game developing team together with other employes. Creating terrain on Warcraft 3 will increase my terraining skills.

Skywall Dungeon Map

So as you know I have started working on a Campaign with your friend helping with terrain. But this one map is one I am concerned about if its possible to make. The Skywall Dungeon.

Size: 160x160 should be large enough.
Tiles: Use whichever fits, import if you like. You can either try and follow the look of the WoW version, or make up your own. Just know that it is a Fortress up in the sky which imprisons Air Elementals :)

When it comes to this project, it probably wont be finished within 2 months. I am also missing a Triggerer for this project atm, but me myself can make some simple triggers and atleast make it work.
Also, since it is a campaign with 7 maps, 2 months is really hard to make it in, but I can keep you updated with the progress if you like.

I understand if this is not a request you would accept, but if you have free time and just want to help it would be much appreciated. It is quite a small map to make anyway :)

I've added a little picture with the layout of the map :)

Well, seeing as that rysnt seems to be working his thread all alone, i will order the map here BUT not yet, as rather to give you daily updates of the map i will first finish the intended things for the first version of the map WHEN they're done, and if you feel like its worth your time, will ask the terrain from you :).

Unless Rysnt picks up my request by that time. I am not in a hurry for the request to be done but it would be nice to have it prior to adding in the systems for my map. However, am quite busy as i am also a part-time writer and i am in charge of keeping one site up to date to one game out there, which sometimes seems hard. That means that the time to finish the map after you have done the terraining will be a lot longer than just 2 months. This also means it will take me some time before i can give you anything real as i have so far done only a small part of everything.

No access to skype and i rather wouldn't bother getting it. If there's another way you'd want to communicate, do tell.

My terraining skill is in my honest opinion not even compareable to Rysnt's.

However, as it seems you are not interested in using the program of my choise, Skype, for communication via the project members. Therefore I will have to decline.

If you happen to be willing to download Skype I might accept.

Until then, Good luck!

I have to agree with Deolrin (FOR ONCE).

It looks like you just got random doodads, put them in your map, threw them around with some water and terrain and called yourself a professional.

The only decent ones are the 'New Terrain', the first few ones don't look half bad.
But you are FAR from being one of the best.

I would never refer to myself as one of the best terrainers for wc3, that is rather silly and is not right at all. So seeing your work, I doubt that it fits you aswell. Also the fact that your terrain is playable won't change the fact. But whatever, there is no reason for you to get rude when people are pointing out that you missed a few terrainers in your decision on who the best terrainers are.
So if you do not ask for an opinion, you should not post those provoking descriptions aswell.

Fact is, there are legends of terraining and you and me are not, so it would be modest not to call you one ;)

Just a heads up

if one claims to be the best, one should accept criticism.
no, seriously. Where as your stuff is far better than mine ever will be, id still say that those arent exactly 'the most legendary of all warcraft 3 ever created'.
Id agree with Deolrin now and go do something else.

To begin with, Morbid you and I got no problem here, I respect you 100% and you do not make me depressed/annoyed what so ever, I rather look up to you on this forum due to your highly constructive comments.

To you other, less interesting people:
This post was purely made for me to get some work on my hands. I did not make this post to get messages saying "TROLOLOL SVERKERMAN UR NOT THE BEST TERRAINER TROLOLOL!!!?!!11!!"

... I never claimed to be the best, I claimed to be one of the best and I got my reasons for making such a statement. If you disagreed that is your opinion, but I only listen to thus opinions which are worth listening to, and that would be people with 1000+ posts. However if that is the case I do not care about since this thread was not made as a showcase for you to comment on. Posting agressive, none constructive comments wont improve anyone's day, but thanks for wasting your own time and if we are lucky, reputation.

I find it funny how someone commented on my murloc city since it was far from the final version. It lacked glow and some other details which I would like to include.

Finally to LordDc, I am cold hearted when it comes to my passion. If this doesn't fit you there is a ignore list for a reason. Watch out with what you say to people since I have yet another passion in my life, reporting abusive and destructive behaving forum users to admins.

All insulting comments has been reported to an admin for further investigation.

im not letting you terrain for my map
voice documentation sounds super lame
you let that poor, poor person wait for a response while you took screenshots of your new terrain
this is just not what im looking for, i am seeking a more stable relationship with someone who likes me for me
it's not you, it's me

Wazz is totally right, I do not seek relationships between me and the developer therefore it would be pointless for me to work with Wazz since he/she is looking for a terrainer where they have some kind of friendly relationship towards each other.

Just a simple question remains then...

Why bother posting?

EDIT: Well that wasn't a opinion, that was more of a statement... Why should I be bothered?

BECAUSE!

i AM working on a current project, and REALLY REALLY SUCK at terraining. 2 months after the terrain is done can actually pretty much be guranteed, as the terrain is the bulk of the work that remains. I do have access to skype, the only thing i'm questioning is a voice documentation, but if you point me to a program that enables me to do this with relative ease, i'll be willing to do it.

HOWEVER

it is an rts style gameplay! with squads! and very very WEIRD GAME MECHANICS.
but i will be able to outline them more if you wish

EDIT: NO NEED. i have a THREAD

Which ones specificly, Devine?
The last one is the only one with a somewhat balanced spectrum, only it needs more green. The first 2 lack a lot of red. They're too far in the negatively charged green range. Addition of respectively red or yellow might solve that. But I'd go for red. Most of the time an unbalanced spectrum adds to a certain atmosphere but this is just out of phase.

As for the composition of the pictures, you're going to have to work on that. The props could have been placed better from an artistic point of view.

You also need to add a little "brempance". Which basically means that you need to balance the belt out a little.

I got a pretty good counter to that.

To begin with, basicly what you are trying to state here is similar to:

Mike: Yellow is the most beautiful color.
Eric: No, you are entirely wrong Mike, blue is actually the most beautiful color.
Mike: but...
Eric: SHUT UP!

This terrain is not a picture. If I wanted to make it a picture it envolves into what I would like to call a "unplayable map". A map simply created for art purposes. The photos which you view here are not made for overview settings. It was created for a First-Person game being developed right now. However I did not mention this so it would be unfair to use as a counter.

Thx for the constructive critism, +rep.
