Hello;

I am making a cinematic that is set in the era when Northrend and Kalimdor where one huge continent (though the story won't focus there).
This takes place in Azeroth, specifically in the land between Northrend and Kalimdor. The main character named Xerxes is a vigilante that is neither aligned with good or evil. He recently heard of some news relating to the war between orcs and humans up in the said land between Northrend and Kalimdor. He feels then a surge of bad and good vibes about the war, and decides to head out to the battlefield to see for himself. I was trying to continue the plot but the ideas that came to my mind were:
- The two races make up and never fight each other again
- The war worsens
- Xerxes takes helps one side fight and goes against his own ethic code (stay neutral)
- Xerxes tries to stop the war but fails
- Some random disaster stops the war
- Another party joins in
- Something supernatural tips the scales in one side's favor
- Xerxes stops the war, but is then hated by both races
- A temporary ceasefire or truce is made between the two races that will be broken before the set date/time
- He is tricked by the orcs into joining them
- The two sides ignore him
- He figures the war has nothing to do with him and leaves

These for me are nothing out of the ordinary. I want this cinematic to be something special, something that is uncommonly seen; because this is what I plan to upload on the Hive as my first map. May I request your help in this? I would appreciate it also if you gave me tips in making a good story or how to make a good story concept- I really need your help.

Sorry if the shots are arranged that way- I don't know how other users post it in a horizontal order...

Thanks- If you need more details just tell me.

You're not giving us an awful lot to go on here.

Start of story: He's camping in the woods.
End part of story: He's been raped

Honestly id like to see your terrain. With all seriousness of course.

Actually, hidden behind these syllables of offense and irrelevance is some form for advice,
regardless of Mr. Vista Sucks' knowing it or not. First you're provided a bullshit example for
a vague request, and then supplied a request to indicate the apparent flaw in your request,
there's no screenshots of the terrain.
- Yes, I just analyzed that post, on a whim and because I wanted to.

See, initially your request doesn't look very... Ahh, sincere. You provide us an explanation akin
to that of a twelve-year-old that's just recently learned a few basic things about the WE and now
understandably want to make a cinematic, and as thus go to pry on creative minds to
provide you a good story.
- Oh and, I'm not saying this is a total ass
thing to do and that you won't get any help.

I'm just saying that a few alterations to how you present your request might well spark better/more interest to your petition.

As thus, my advice follows:

If you are serious about this, then provide some shots of the terrain you've made, regardless of it's quality.
(you'd be surprised in knowing how little might actually spark a creative line of thought) Then do a more
thorough through-thinking of what it is that you want to make: Little things such as a name for this "northern-land"
and an initial idea to go by, preferably a tad more detailed than what's up there. And then go back to your initial
post and re-write it, feed us reasons and explanations to why we should help you and to why you want to do this.

If you're not serious about this, then forget all about this thread and start regretting you ever made it.

Basically. If you don't provide a serious and professional request, you'll receive answers of the same kind. If any.

If you post screens, you may also receive some feedback by expert terrainers. Helping you improve your work.
