Storing Abilitycooldowns?

Hey

I have a "system". If a hero picks up/clicks on a sword he'll be replaced by a hero having another dmg/cooldown/range. If he picks up a bow he'll be replaced again and so on. I used this way because "chaos" caused terrible bugs on my map. (the hero had xxxxxxx hp after switching items).

But the problem is that the hero has a spellbook ability.
The ability cooldowns get resetted if i replace the hero (pick up an item) and add the spellbook spell again. So if you use a ability and change the weapon you can use it instantly again, what makes the whole thing imbalanced.

Is there a way to store the ability cooldowns of the spellbook and add it to the new hero again? Or any other ways to solve this problem?

Would be awesome, thx..

As far as I know, there is no way to accurately store ability cooldowns. Even if you could, there is no trigger that sets an ability into cooldown, except by using it. In my opinion, the only way to get what you want is to change your system so it works without replacing the Hero.
