Starcraft Mining Mechanics

I want the workers on my map to mine like workers mine minerals in Starcraft.
I'm using the ability "harvest lumber" but I want to replace the tree's with another doodad. But if I do so the workers mineing the doodad will carry lumber on their back instead of what they are actually mineing.

How do I change what workers carry on their back?

Is it possible to replace lumber with a goldbag?
When workers mine the lumberdoodad they get a goldbag on their back instead of lumber. Carry gold/lumber is an animation most workers have. I just want to switch them :)
You see, if I replace the goldmine with a doodad the workers will not mine the doodad they will enter it and come out with gold.

(And the resource I'm thinking of might aswell be hidden in a bag instead of visible on the back;)

I know basic triggering and I can import skins and models, but I have never created or edited a model before. But since all there is to do is to rename two animations on an existing model, do you think that is hard to do?

Or rather, you think a rookie like me can learn and pull this of or does it take a long time to be able to master it?
