Spirit on Board!

An idea, witch randomly sprouted in my head, The Games name is not perminant and will probably be changed but anyway, here the idea:

Objectives:
spirit: go round shutting down systems, taking over humans minds so it can put people off the sent so you can exicute evil deed, create false files and databanks to make people beleive that somebody else mind has been taken over, ultimatly find a way to wipe out the humans.
Good spirit: the opponsite to the spirit, it will try to assist the humans but also needs to take over the humans minds to have any real effect in the game, might be confused with evil spirit by humans.
Human: to isolate the spirit before it destroys the humans.


Details:
Abilities:
Spirit & good spirit:

mind possession: simply take control of a human player
System overload: overloads a particular system witch means humans need to manually sort out electrical wires behind the consol.
Ventallation: can travel though vents to move quickly around the location
All human abilities (when it has taken over their minds)


Humans:

use consoles: activate a console to look at data, look at the sensors as well as movement detectors (will tell when someone or somehting trips a movement detector).
when looking at data you can see the last so many people who used the console.
fix things: basically repair objects and suchlike.
They can basically use everything such as item and what not.


Main systems in the Ship:

Thermo scanner: can be used to see if the entity is inside a player by a larger red dot being near the brain of the human.

Life support: without this the humans will slowly die.

Sensors: pings the location of humans and the spirits but if a spirit is inside a player than it wont ping.

movement detectors: a cruder version of the sensors, can be used as an alternative is the sensors are disabled or damaged, only says if a detector goes off and the detectors number, but no other information is given. these can be seen around the location and can be destroyed or disabled.

Weapons: as radom event may occur inwitch case weapons for the location (if it where a space ship or somthing) are required these will need to be repaired and online, the spirit will want to disable or damage them as it doesn't matter if it dies so long as it's objective is complete in doing it.

Medical station: if somebody is injured in battle when the spirit attacks them or puts them into a fight from being possessed then they will need to go to the medical station to heal open wounds witch maybe inflictied or somekind of illness or disease they havve contracted from somewhere. if the spirit deactivates the healing equipment or somesuch equivlent the medical station would be offline.
If players are near to death they are knocked unconsius they can then be moved freely by people including hte spirit so they can be hidden in closets and suchlike (odviously the spirit can only move then if he has a human body under possession) when in this status the player owning the unit's screen will fade in and out, if they where the spirit they will immediatly be ejected from the body. The only reason the spirit may want to hide the person and not kill them is that the spirit can only kill by ejecting the body out one of the many garbage suits s the speices themselves cannot murder without indtantly dieing themselves, they might not have the oppertunity to drop these bodies down a chute so they need to hide the body untill the timing is right, when outcold the human cannot talk but can sort of see what is going on around them.

Holographics department: as the start maybe considered pointless but the spirit and the spirit only can use it to create additional holograms of itself to fool sensors, movement detectors. or if it's inside a human, multiple of this human form however all holograms cannot deal any damage or control anyway or have any abilities.

Power: A very important part, this supplies power for all other stations, without it only essential systems can run such as life support but all other things will shut down and most consoles will become immpossible to use.


Additional information:

Spirits can only talk with another player voice as they cannot communicate without a host body.

when you are possessed you screen will blackout and you will become unable to talk, this is so you cannot see what you have done while you possessed and therefore have no 'memory' of what you did.

data of previous user on consoles and suchlike is stored in each console as well as in a command console in the command room where data files are stored.

supplies are not infinate and cost players point to create, these points can be gained by repairing consoles and suchlike but if you are the one that damaged it in the first place then you dont gain any.

certain words cannot be mentioned so people dont 'spill the beans' n example of these words are spirit, possessed, destroyed. and so on. metioning these words in your sentance will result in your whole message being erased from file and not being given to other players.

also when you are possessed all messages that would go to you are rerouted to the person who has possessed you.

Both spirits need to be smart enough to not be caught out, including the good spirit as other players may mistake it as the evil one.

The only way of detecting the spirits is that to the eye they are just a bulging distortion in the air. as a random event or by tampering with some of the systems (ie: enviromental controls) other bulges may appear witch will disguise the spirit in the air.

Humans will have certain jobs around the location as well:
Engineer: will be able to modify data, recover deleated data, repair things faster than others and have the ablilty to hack into locked doors.

Dr.: will be incharge of looking after the medical area, will be able to heal players, give out drugs to the players, good drugs or dangerous drugs, he can also give out poisoned medication if he wanted to.

Captain: will be able to lock down doors, create emergancy forcefeilds from the command console and genrally command the others, has a personal scaner from the command console as well.

Inventor: will be incharge of developing new things for the crew such as better weapons, nore equipment and suchlike as well as make small machines, an example of a small machine would be a recon drone and an example of a small machine witch the spirit would use is a wire hacker.

Ways of damaging consoles/disabling them:
Breaking wires, they will need to be replaced by ones from the cargo bay
shutting down, they need to be reinitialized
Smashing the console, the engineer will need to repair it, others can also repair it but much slower
powercut, basically when the power is off some consoles will become impossible to use untill it is back on.

Location has now been decided as a assualt cruiser in the furture!
due to this location being chosen doorways will be portholes like in real ships, the gentral shape will be boat like, however differant depending on the deck you are currantly on,

all decks will link through ventallaition and these vents will also travel to many places on the ship, however there will not be so many so that the spirit can just hide in them.

The way inwitch the spirit will be contained has been decided; you will catch him in a speicial containment trap , to knock him out you will have to fill and area with gas witch will be harmful to humans, when he has been gassed he becomes visible in it's true form, a disgusitng bug creature. the humans must then take this creature and place it into the containment trap, this trap can also catch him when he isn't knocked out but it's unlikely this will occur, humans can buy mini versions of these traps witch will just catch him for a time however the humans may not know they caught him, to escape from these traps he must press the esc button 100 times, to escape the main one witch takes 4 humans to move or one driving a vehicle made by the inventor, it will take them, 500 esc presses. once he has revealed his true form he will be unable to revert however now that he has lost his element of surprise on the humans. he will be able to talk all the time and attack them, all other capabilities will remain.
once the spirit has shown his true form they will be able to operate consoles without taking a humans brain but unique functions will not be given to it. also it's treated as a human and when near death will be knocked out and to kill him the humans must eject the body out a garbage chute.

all these RC things can be combined to make other versions of it. (eg. RC car small gun mounted and Large camera ontop as well)

invisible tripwire mines (the red beam is not invisible)

Wire cutters (can be mounted on RC-Car & helicopter)

Note: not all inventor items will be createable just by him, the guns will be creatable by all players as will some of the others.

Spirits Items (items that only spirits know how to create):
Electric stunning zone (creates a small electrical pen witch will stun and constantly hurt anyone who enters including the spirit when inhabitting a human.
Sticky mine (will attach itself to a human but not go off for sometime, can be remotly detonated when attached to a human, gives the spirit additional sight for the time the mine is attached.)

Large items (items that have a large effect in the game):
Gas generator. (creates poisonous gas around it, may completaly contaminate an area, i will hurt spirit and humans)
Emergancy forcefeild. (a very powerful forcefeild created by the command computer, creates a immovable wall witch allows nobody to pass)
Bomb (a normal bomb, will damage the ship)
Gas bomb (a bomb witch releases more gas then damage, will poison humans and damage the spirits)


Human Modifications (things humans can do to modify the game):
Change the aircon, this will change the ventalation and it's effects on the spirits, one may speed them up but hurts them, one may heal them but slow them down, one may slowly freeze them inside however it will slowly heat up eventually thawing them out and then need to be cooled down again.

Swap wires around to change power distribution, this effects witch console does what, you could have the main console near the power supply console and the power supply console in the medical bay and suchlike.
reroute power to boost certain things and give them extra power (this will probably mostly be used for weapons when the need arises)


The Last Human:
When all but one human has been killed, as in spirit form the spirit cannot actualy kill this last human, he will be forced to go and show his true form, his stats will then be calculated by his points automatically giving him a higher strength.

Basically the more mischeivous they where the stronger they are to fight the humans, the spirit has the option to do this sooner however stats do not increase once in their true form.

If they do it sooner however they will get a slight buff in strength so basically if you thought the tiers in strength like this:
Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3, Tier 4, etc. if he where at Tier 2 when he shows his true form he will be Tier 2 - Tier 3, basically in the middle of the two Tiers, each Tier will have a seperate model, each on looking more powerful and sinister (this includes buff ones, ones in the middle to two tiers), once in true form the spirit cannot revert or anything. and when only one human remains will lose the ability to control minds.

The max Tier will be something like Tier 20, as each Tier will not be much stronger than the previous.
note that the good spirit will have the same system, however it will earn points via helping the humans fix things and will lose points when u human attacks him (not if that human has been controlled by the evil spirit)



Resource distribution:
The spirits currant Tier/Max Tier will replace the food resource.
The currant point accumilated will be replacing the lumber resource.
The humans Upgrade points (used to buy things) will replace the gold resource.


Metamorphasis (under debate)
This is to be discussed about.
Each tier of spirit form will have 2 variations you have combat and stealth.
when in true form the spirit will have these two forms, one will be able to travel the air vents like before and is much smaller, it can also execute a stealth kill depending on the micro management of the controller. The combat form will be able to fight properly however it will be slower and too big to fit in air vents, also it has less intelligence so it may go wrong when it tampers with data files and such. Stealth form will not be able to be detected by sensors or movement detectors.


Viruses
Viruses are going to be put into the game however they will work differntly then normally tampering or destroying a console, it will slowly destroy them, from the inside so people outside cannot detect that there is a virusn in it, people like the engineer and captain will be able to detect if a virus is inside a console. this will add to the deception as the console may die, but you could be on the other side of the ship therefore they do not suspect you and whoever was nearby would be suspected.
These viruses will be able to be implemented into pretty much all electrical equipment.

Thats it so far.

Only a few things are set in stone at this moment of time, any thought that people wish to add to the game will be discussed, regardless of how absured it is so long as it can be justified.

Help will be required to complete this, and helpers with terraining and layout have priority. i hope this just isn't another one of my ideas that die in my brain due to me not being able to terrain things effectily.
